Simple Ways to Jump Start Your Resolutions

I’ve partnered with Green Giant, Optimum Nutrition, vitafusion, and L’il Critters as part of an Influencer Activation and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

2018 was not my year, but I hunkered down and killed it in 2019. I didn't need a resolution, I just saw that I needed to change things and I did it. But resolutions can be a great way to make goals for the new year. One of the things that I focused on as my goal (not a resolution per say) in 2019 was my family's health. After losing 60 pounds, I have found simple ways to make the necessary lifestyle changes to jump start those healthier goals and continue on a path to better health in the New Year!

Exploring High Falls State Park

In our efforts to start a healthier lifestyle, my husband and I have taken up hiking again. We are not trying to lose weight; we are trying to get more active and eat a balanced diet. My husband's birthday was on Monday, so we decided to take a trip over to High Falls State Park since we had never been before. Located northwest of Macon, High Falls State Park is named for tumbling cascades on the Towaliga River. Boat rental, ramps and fishing docks provide easy access to the park’s lake, known as one of Georgia’s top fishing spots for hybrid and white bass.

The day started a little chilly, but it has been feeling like Spring almost nearly day here in Georgia, so it did warm up. It was actually the perfect day. Not too hot, not too cold, slight overcast so the sun didn't beat down on us. My will-be-three-in-March son decided his 30 lb. self wouldn't walk most of the way and of course we forgot our Lillebaby carrier, so my poor husband carried him most of the time.

Word of the Year: Balance #BehindTheBlogger

Dear 2016 Me,

Your word of this year is Balance. I know you don't normally do a word of the year, but I have seen others do them and writing New Year Resolutions down, I've realized that BALANCE should be your goal word of the year.

Word of the Year: Balance #BehindTheBlogger

You need a more balanced diet, making progress with simple steps will help. You need to balance your time better so you can spend more of it with your family, in order to find my family's Formula for Happiness.

Taking small steps to your goals is how we are going to find balance this year. Planning ahead and scheduling will help, but living in the moment isn't a bad idea either. We are gearing up for our best year yet. There are so many opportunities ahead and things we have planned. You turn thirty this year. So let's end our twenties with a bang!

Making New Year Resolution Progress with Progresso + Giveaway

I have always tried making New Year resolutions that would stick. And it seems great and really easy at first because you are motivated, but then by week three of the new year you are back to old habits. That's why I have decided to make smaller goals for myself this year, instead of traditional "resolutions". Easy to set, so I won't be weighed down by the heavy obstacle.
