I have always tried making New Year resolutions that would stick. And it seems great and really easy at first because you are motivated, but then by week three of the new year you are back to old habits. That's why I have decided to make smaller goals for myself this year, instead of traditional "resolutions". Easy to set, so I won't be weighed down by the heavy obstacle.
My 2016 New Year Goals:
1. Do one activity a day with the kids. Going to the park, going to story time, building with my daughter's LEGOs. This is my attempt to spend more time with my family. Seems simple, but I need to make it my goal, so I don't let errands or blogging take control.
2. Write one post a week about family. That's why I started this job, and we have fun adventures that I would like to share. I have strayed away from the original intend of my writing and I want to get back to my roots.
3. Get more steps in. Working out is what I really should be doing (since we pay for gym memberships), but let's focus on just getting a little more active. I have an activity tracker so there are no excuses.
4. Clean one thing a day. I have let my house get disorganized and disheveled. I don't want to look at that anymore. I want to dust one thing, vacuum one floor, clean one toilet, organize one drawer, something every day so I can keep my house looking nice. I turn 30 this year and I am too old to have a messy house.
5. Eat lunch. I know what you are thinking. How do you not eat lunch, right? More often than not, my lunch is a cup of coffee. Which isn't good for anyone at all. You need food that is balanced with low calories, but you still want to have great flavor.
