Tips to Get More Protein into Your Diet

I have been on a whole body, including mind and spirit wellness journey for a few years now. It's trial and error learn as I go. But the number one thing I learned and that advice I always go back to is nutrition is the most important aspect. According to the latest data, an estimated 600 million people become ill each year after consuming food contaminated with harmful substances. Properly fueling your body is key and getting more protein into your diet is not only a great way to grow your muscles since muscles burn fat, but also you feel fuller for longer. So here are some of my favorite tips to get more protein into your diet, but in a delicious, satisfying way.

Turkey Zucchini Boats {Low Calorie & Low Carb Recipe}

I have been sharing my weightloss journey randomly over on Instagram. I have lost 70 pounds through calorie deficit and a regular exercise routine. But I get bored with my recipes and want to try different things. I am always on the hunt for low carb, low calorie, high protein recipes that are easy to make. What's crazy about this recipe is that I made a similar version before but didn't care for it. This time, I have made the right adjustments because it was so delicious. The kiddos weren't fans, but they liked the filling, so I paired it with some protein pasta, and they were big fans.

Meal Prep Ideas to Help You Stay on Track

It's February, are you still focused on your New Year Resolutions? That's why I personally like making goals for myself. I feel like with a resolution, you fall of the wagon and don't see the point to get back on, but with goals, you keep trying the next day even if you lost focus for a day or two. And what has helped me in my weight loss journey is even if I had a bad day or even a week, is that I jumped back on the wagon and tried again. Just keep trying.

For me, I had to focus on getting my nutrition right first. It took a lot of trial and error, but I finally figured out the main goal each day is planning ahead. We don't eat out like we use to at all and when we do go out to eat, we make better food choices for sure, if that means completely re-making a meal then that is what I do. I also believe meal prepping is more budget friendly as well. My husband use to say he hated left overs, but he basically didn't like having something for dinner and then having it for lunch the next day. But I had to change his mindset about his lunches so he could realize how much money we were wasting by eating out everyday. So sometimes I cook a dinner like I normally would and then make enough extras for him to have at least 3 to 4 days of lunches. That way he can switch it up if we do have leftovers for him to take.

Simple Ways to Jump Start Your Resolutions

I’ve partnered with Green Giant, Optimum Nutrition, vitafusion, and L’il Critters as part of an Influencer Activation and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

2018 was not my year, but I hunkered down and killed it in 2019. I didn't need a resolution, I just saw that I needed to change things and I did it. But resolutions can be a great way to make goals for the new year. One of the things that I focused on as my goal (not a resolution per say) in 2019 was my family's health. After losing 60 pounds, I have found simple ways to make the necessary lifestyle changes to jump start those healthier goals and continue on a path to better health in the New Year!

Gift Guide Essentials for Work Out Enthusiasts

This post contains affiliate links.

My husband and I have been on a lifestyle wellness change for over two years now. Since we are having to learn healthy habits in our adulthood, it has been trial and error on what works for us. The first thing we did was overhaul our diet. Then I started on cardio while my husband focused more our weight training. We both lost 30 to 40 pounds, but then we plateaued. We were able to keep the weight off, but we weren't losing anymore. And then we found CrossFit and it has seriously been a game changer and the best investment in our health we have ever made.

So now we consider ourselves gym nuts. We have also found some products along the way that have been game changers as well. If you know someone in your life who is on a fitness journey, then here are some awesome gift ideas they will be sure to enjoy!

Snacking on Plan with FITCRUNCH + Cheesy Buffalo Chicken Nugget Recipe

I received this product for free from Moms Meet to use and post my honest opinions. Compensation for this post was provided and this page may contain affiliate links.

I have some amazing news that I haven't shared anywhere else yet, but I am very proud of it. I have officially lost 50 pounds and am at my lowest weight I have been before I got pregnant with my son (probably my daughter too, but I didn't weigh myself then). I wish I had kept better track of this journey because it has been a long one. Figuring out what works for my body. Understanding that nutrition is number one and strength is more important than cardio. It has been a learning curve for sure.

I am a firm believer in making food choices that are smart. Snacking is the number one issue concerning people who are trying to lose weight. And they always want to know how to stop it. And I say, why? Just be smart about your snacking choices. I was recently sent some FITCRUNCH Cheddar Cheese High Protein Puffs to try out with my family.

Apps to Make Money While You Lose Weight

I was looking through my Timehop and I was reminded that two years ago my husband and I really buckled down to start our weightloss journey. We made many lifestyle changes along the way and that has been the key to success. We watch what we eat more carefully and we make sure to get 30 minutes of cardio in daily. We are still learning what works for us and had to change up our routines because sometimes we would get in a plateau. It has been a process, but we are loving knowing that we are setting a better foundation for our children.

If you know me, then you know that I am going to try and monetize anything and everything. I use to extreme coupon and I still love using coupon and discount apps regularly. And through this journey I have found so many apps to help you make money while you are getting healthy.

How to Score a FREE Fitbit

NO this is not click bate and YES you read that right. If you searched "Lark app Free Fitbit scam" to get to this page, then I am here to tell you that THIS IS LEGIT!

I have been using an app called Lark for a few months now. It was recommended to me through my husband's work. Each year we have to take a health evaluation for our insurance. The Lark app was recommended to me because I have a history of diabetes in my family and this app is all about diabetes prevention. Please note: Not all insurance plans work with the Lark app.

Get a FREE Fitbit

I have an okay diet, but a pretty inactive lifestyle unless I go to the gym. I have a history of diabetes on both sides of my family. My husband did not qualify for the Lark app because the questions he answered didn't qualify him. As soon as I signed up I received a free digital scale that is directly connected to the app and updates my weight automatically. As long as you are active on the app, then you will get a FREE Fitbit (at a certain price point).

Tips to Stay Hydrated During Your Weightloss Journey

This post was sponsored by BODYARMOR. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I have been working on and sticking to my weight loss journey since the beginning of the year. I am extremely proud of my husband and I for sticking to this lifestyle change this time around. We have been eating more veggies, staying away from fried foods and sweets, getting more exercise, taking our vitamins, but the one thing that I have been struggling is drinking enough and staying hydrated.

Tips to Stay Hydrated During Your Weightloss Journey

It has been an on going battle, but knowing that my body can retain excess water weight if I don't get the proper hydration I needs has made me want to win. So here are so strategy tips I have collected to help me stay hydrated during my weightloss journey.

Importance of Taking a Daily Probiotic for Women

I have been on a health and wellness journey since January. I have tried to lose weight in the past, but I am just focusing on overall wellness which means a lifestyle change and if weightloss happens then that is great. I have been taking probiotics for a few years now. I started taking them when I was pregnant with my son and I noticed so many amazing results. I have been looking for a change in probiotic since I have been eating differently and exercising more.

WE DID IT! Running the Color Run 5K Atlanta

I told you all that we were going to be running our first 5k and I am happy to report that we did it! I was a nervous wreck before hand. I had been having serious pain in my hip and I didn't know if I was going to be able to power through. I decided my husband and I needed a non-weight goal to look forward to, so we signed up to run the Color Run 5K Atlanta. Since this was a fun run, you didn't have to run the entire time (just keep moving) which is why I loved it for our first 5k.

My husband and sister-in-law ran with me. My father-in-law was kind of enough to get up super early so we could head to the Atlanta Motor Speedway. I was worried about what to do with my phone and if I should wear my Bluetooth headphones or even my Fit Bit because I didn't want them to get ruined by paint. But the paint is powdered and you don't have to get any on you if you don't want to. It was a little chilly that morning, but I just knew I would get hot once we started running.

What to Stream When You're Trying to Lose Weight

The hubby and I are running our first 5K on Saturday. From what I can tell, it's a color run so it isn't as competitive as other races seem to be. So it will be a great first 5K especially since we are beginning runners. We have started a weight loss journey and healthy lifestyle to become a #FitFam (fitness family). We want to be healthy. And to get in the mind set, we have been streaming different documentaries to help us in our process. I have made a list of what to stream when you are trying to lose weight.

P90X's Island Pork Tenderloin Recipe

I have been trying to gradually lose weight. Really we are trying to get back into a healthy lifestyle. We ate WAY TOO much over the holidays and it just wasn't good for our health at all. I have started doing Beachbody's P90X again but this time I have changed it up so I can slowly get into it and not overwhelm myself. I am trying to start with our diet and first. I have been working out, but I am starting slow because I didn't realize how weak I was. Eating healthy can be very yummy. We actually enjoy eating foods that are better for us, but the unhealthy foods tend to be so much more convenient, unless you meal plan - which we have started doing again. Meal planning can also be cheaper on your wallet. Here's a recipe that is healthy, yummy, and pretty easy to make.

Merry Christmas! + Nutrisystem Results

I received complimentary products from Nutrisystem to provide this post. All opinions are my own.

My daughter was out of school this week, so on Monday we headed to Zoo Atlanta with my sister-in-law and some of our friends. It was a lot of fun and I got a lot of steps in. We brought in our lunches and I had a great discussion about Nutrisystem and the great eating habits it has taught me. Tuesday I cleaned the house top to bottom to getting ready for company and wrapped all of the kiddos' presents from us.

Losing Weight during the Holidays
I know I mentioned last week that we were going to go to The Varsity on Christmas Eve, but it has been very rainy in Georgia with flash flood watches so we decided to stay at my in-laws and have a nice steak dinner. I still can't believe my father-in-law went to the grocery store that morning.

Nurisystem Week 11 Update #nsnation

I received complimentary products from Nutrisystem to provide this post. All opinions are my own.

Monday we started the week off with dance of course where they had a Santa and Peanut actually sat in his lap! Both were scared when we went before. SweetPea said she would have sat in his lap (even though she was scared) if she knew there were candy canes. LOL

This week has was SweetPea's last week of school before Winter Break and we all went as a family to her Christmas Party on Friday, then we took the kiddos to see The Good Dinosaur which was a GREAT movie and I seriously suggest taking your kiddos to see it.
