Tips to Take Care of Eye Glasses + SnapIt Giveaway

If you have been following my blog, then you know my son recently started wearing glasses. He just turned five and got his glasses right before his fifth birthday. They have helped him so much in school and recreational activities. He wants to color more and has been hitting the ball more in baseball. They aren't quite 100% and I think that's because although I searched pediatric ophthalmologist, the facility I took him to doesn't normally see children. The doctor admitted that she was scared to go stronger, but that's what he might need. And when I took him to his one year physical check up, they had a chart of shapes and he still couldn't see the bottom lines. We will get there. Since he still has issues recognizing letters, this is a process for us to figure out what is the best prescription for him.

I have had glasses since I was in seventh grade. My mom has had glasses since she was a toddler, so glasses just run in our family. When my son got his new glasses, they told us a few helpful tips on how to take care of eyeglasses that I thought I would share with all of you because some of these even I didn't know!

Celebrating Birthday Milestones in a Memorable Way

This little man turned three and a half last week. I have been trying to enjoy all the little moments with him because he is our last baby. But don't call him that. He is a "big boy" and ready for a full time job and a house of his own. Half birthdays may not be something that everyone celebrates, but it was a fun distraction to keep our minds off of Hurricane Irma for sure.

We had a lot of fun celebrating this sweet Peanut's half birthday. And to him, it's a big deal. He is no longer a "baby" anymore, he isn't just three anymore, he is three AND a half! Netflix helped us celebrate this little man's half birthday in a fun, new way. Not only were we sent cool items to make this fun Red Velvet Cake, but just released today they have 15 on-demand videos that celebrate birthdays and make your kids' day special.

Monster Mike's 1st Day of Pre-K {Wordless Wednesday + LINKY}

My "Wordless Wednesday" posts never seem so wordless. LOL

Yesterday was my Peanut's first day of pre-k. As I've mentioned, he will be going three hours a day, three days a week. His big sister was so excited for him because she loves school so much and told him about all the friends he would make. He has been so excited to start school and he walked right in like a champ.

Peanut's 3rd Birthday - Paw Patrol Birthday Ideas

My Baby Boy turned three on Monday. This past weekend we had a fun little party for him. It wasn't as big as my daughter's party, but my son really needs something a little more low key so I didn't invite as many people. This makes year number two that he hasn't cried or even been shy when everyone sang him "Happy Birthday" and I'm so proud of him! He picked out a Paw Patrol theme and we had a lot of fun with it!

We invited everyone through a Facebook invite because with our bunch they tend to be better about RSVPing if the invite is online.
Here is what I put in the description of his online invite:
"All Paws on deck! Mikey is turning three!
Join us on the double for a RUFF-tastic party!"
I think you could use Shutterfly to make some cute personalized invitations with this.

I was fortunate enough to work with Oriental Trading again for most of Peanut's Nick Jr.'s Paw Patrol themed party.

Personality Based Potty Training with Pull-Ups + Giveaway

I received complimentary products to provide this post. All opinions are my own.

My son turned TWO! Where does the time go? His little personality is showing that he has definitely two. Others have told me that it tends to be a boy thing because he can get so aggressive one moment and then so sweet the next. Whatever it is, it's something new for me.

Thomas the Train Birthday Party Ideas

Thank you to Oriental Trading for the decorations and Good2Grow for the beverages to make our baby's day so special.

My baby boy turned TWO on Sunday. I can not believe how fast time flies! We had his party on Saturday so it was easy for my husband to get that day off of work. Peanut is in to cars, balls, trains, and basically anything that rolls, so we decided to have a Thomas the Train Birthday Party! It is such an awesome theme because Thomas & Friends are EVERY where, so there are so many cute ideas out there. We had fun putting this party together and a great time was had by all!

Two Years Ago...

My son is turning TWO in a week and a half. Where does the time go? It feels like yesterday I was sharing his birth story....four months late. His little personality is showing that he has definitely started turning two. Others have told me that it tends to be a boy thing because he can get so aggressive one moment and then so sweet the next. Whatever it is, it's something new for me.

Our First ER Visit

So on Friday, we went to the park as a family because the Hubby was off of work. Peanut fell and when I picked him up, blood was pouring out of his mouth. When he finally let us have a peak, it looked like a chunk of his tongue was missing. Both Hubby and I agreed, we needed to go to the ER.

Called ahead and they were rude on the phone. That should have been my first clue. Peanut was crying, blood kept pouring out the whole way there.

Peanut's 1st Braves Game {Wordless Wednesday LINKY}

Friday my husband got some tickets through work so we took the kiddos to the Braves game. It was Peanut's first National League Baseball game. The weather was cold and a little rainy, but Hubby ended up catching a foul ball and then a Cardinals fan gave us one of the free bobble heads. Plus they had Friday Night Fireworks. AND the Braves won!

15 Months Old {Wordless Wednesday LINKY}

Peanut turned 15 months old this month. And he had his check-up this week. We found out he is still borderline anemic, so we are working on that. He has started walking everywhere. He can say thank you, wave bye-bye, bark like a dog, and he climbs on everything. My new favorite thing he does is cheese for the camera.

12 Months of Peanut {Wordless Wednesday}

My Peanut turns ONE on Friday. ONE! Where did the past year go?! This time last year, I was nesting but didn't know it yet. I kept thinking, "Oh I still have two more weeks." So that's why when he came home the nursery wasn't ready, in fact the crib wasn't even up. That's my suggestion to anyone who is miserable pregnant, PROCRASTINATE and your water will break two weeks early. :)

For this Wordless Wednesday, we are celebrating a year of Peanut. :)

Happy 11 months, Peanut!

Less than one month until you turn a year old and I just want to cry (yes this post is a little late, but better late than never).

Real life getting an 11 month pic. Yes that is a Halloween paci in your mouth.

You are waking up nightly for some reason. Yes my son wakes up at 12 & 4 every night to nurse still. It doesn't bother me most nights, but then there are times when you won't go back to sleep during those times unless I am holding you. And YES, that gets tiresome. I'm not sure what to do and just glad I don't have to get up and go to a 9 to 5 out-of-the-house job everyday.

Happy 10 Months, Peanut!

Time seriously can not be going by this fast. You can not almost be a year old.

The likeliness of getting you to take your monthly picture while smiling, laying flat, and not trying to crawl away are slim to none. You are into EVERYTHING these days. I can't keep my eyes off you for one minute. You are a lot braver than your sissy was at this age, which I read is normal for boys. I see a broken something in our future....

Happy 9 Months Old, Peanut!

No you can't be 9 months old. Time can't have flown that fast. It can't be your first Christmas this month already and time for me start planning your birthd... Nope...Not going to type it. Because then I have to accept it and I'm just not ready to.

Happy 8 Months, Peanut!

I know I'm terrible. I haven't wrote a post updating everyone since he was 5 months old PLUS I didn't even take a 7 month picture because of vacation and illness.

We went on vacation the during fall break at the beginning of October. You turned 7 months there and seriously were the most amazing baby. Your sister got sick at school the next week and then you got sick. Like fever and everything. So mommy has been way behind ever since.

Half A Year Old

Where has the time gone?! My baby boy is 6 months old. Half a YEAR! In the past two months since I have posted an update he started rolling over, became a jumping machine, and he started solids (even if he prefers breastmilk).

Peanut Started Solids!

So we started Peanut on solids. We decided to go with Squash (we gave him butternut) because I read it was one of the best food for babies to start out with.

This is from his first time eating:

And this video is from after I made some homemade yellow squash baby food which he loved even more! He has also tried applesauce which he isn't really a fan of (of course it was jar food) and carrots (which he LOVES). I've been using the baby food recipes that came with my Cook-n-Blend baby food maker.

Becoming A Family of 4 - A Birth Story (FINALLY!)

So Peanut is 4 months old and I'm just getting around to putting the final touches on this...oops.

First and foremost I would like to say thank you. Thank you to everyone who we drove crazy because we didn't open the envelope and find out the gender of our peanut before birth. I know some of you were on the edge of your seats with anticipation. ;)

Mighty Cute {Wordless Wednesday}

Happy 3 Months, Peanut!

Can you believe he is 3 months old? Or that I still haven't posted his birth story? It's written down, I promise.
