Thomas the Train Birthday Party Ideas

Thank you to Oriental Trading for the decorations and Good2Grow for the beverages to make our baby's day so special.

My baby boy turned TWO on Sunday. I can not believe how fast time flies! We had his party on Saturday so it was easy for my husband to get that day off of work. Peanut is in to cars, balls, trains, and basically anything that rolls, so we decided to have a Thomas the Train Birthday Party! It is such an awesome theme because Thomas & Friends are EVERY where, so there are so many cute ideas out there. We had fun putting this party together and a great time was had by all!

We invited everyone through a Facebook invite because with our bunch they tend to be better about RSVPing if the invite is online.
Here is what I put in the description of his online invite:
"Hey everyone! Choo Choo Choo Peanut is turning TWO!
All Aboard! We're on our way to celebrate Peanut's big day!"
I think you could use Shutterfly to make some cute personalized invitations with this.

As far as decorations, I was very excited to work with Oriental Trading again. They have so much to choose from. You can get a ton even if you are on a budget (like we are). They even have costumes. For his outfit, I just did a blue shirt with a conductor hat, but he was not a fan of the hat at all.

Anyways as for food, I saw some cute ideas on Pinterest where you made a buffet style train car. And as cute as that was, we just didn't have the space for it. So my husband made his famous guacamole and bacon wrapped smokies. We also served cupcakes (pictured above), which were super easy to make using Kit Kat bars and they turned out fantastic! My sister found the idea on Facebook and I decided to make the track into the shape of the number two. We found the cake topper on Amazon. Peanut doesn't like chocolate, so I bought some cupcakes with green icing to look like grass.

We also had some yummy Good2Grow drinks because they have the cutest toppers. We have had these drinks for the kiddos at almost every birthday party we have thrown, including our Disney Cars and Disney Princesses. The kids LOVE them and they work out great. PLUS you can easily refill them with water once the juice is gone. We were sent the fruit and veggie blend which has 22% less sugar and a combined serving of fruit/veggies!

As far as activities goes, we have a pretty nice set up in our back yard. We did have a Thomas the Train piñata from Oriental Trading that was a ton of fun. You can view the full video on YouTube. It was so nice to have everyone around talking and laughing. And we couldn't have asked for better weather.

All in all I would say it was a GREAT day! Peanut usually hates the song "Happy Birthday", but he did great and didn't cry. I still can NOT believe he turned TWO. Time needs to slow down now. Thankful that a great day was had by all!

I received complimentary products to provide this post. All opinions are my own.
