Meal Prep Ideas to Help You Stay on Track
Tuesday, February 4, 2020
It's February, are you still focused on your New Year Resolutions? That's why I personally like making goals for myself. I feel like with a resolution, you fall of the wagon and don't see the point to get back on, but with goals, you keep trying the next day even if you lost focus for a day or two. And what has helped me in my weight loss journey is even if I had a bad day or even a week, is that I jumped back on the wagon and tried again. Just keep trying.
For me, I had to focus on getting my nutrition right first. It took a lot of trial and error, but I finally figured out the main goal each day is planning ahead. We don't eat out like we use to at all and when we do go out to eat, we make better food choices for sure, if that means completely re-making a meal then that is what I do. I also believe meal prepping is more budget friendly as well. My husband use to say he hated left overs, but he basically didn't like having something for dinner and then having it for lunch the next day. But I had to change his mindset about his lunches so he could realize how much money we were wasting by eating out everyday. So sometimes I cook a dinner like I normally would and then make enough extras for him to have at least 3 to 4 days of lunches. That way he can switch it up if we do have leftovers for him to take.
Simple Ways to Jump Start Your Resolutions
Tuesday, January 7, 2020
I’ve partnered with Green Giant, Optimum Nutrition, vitafusion, and L’il Critters as part of an Influencer Activation and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.
2018 was not my year, but I hunkered down and killed it in 2019. I didn't need a resolution, I just saw that I needed to change things and I did it. But resolutions can be a great way to make goals for the new year. One of the things that I focused on as my goal (not a resolution per say) in 2019 was my family's health. After losing 60 pounds, I have found simple ways to make the necessary lifestyle changes to jump start those healthier goals and continue on a path to better health in the New Year!
Apps to Make Money While You Lose Weight
Monday, July 8, 2019
I was looking through my Timehop and I was reminded that two years ago my husband and I really buckled down to start our weightloss journey. We made many lifestyle changes along the way and that has been the key to success. We watch what we eat more carefully and we make sure to get 30 minutes of cardio in daily. We are still learning what works for us and had to change up our routines because sometimes we would get in a plateau. It has been a process, but we are loving knowing that we are setting a better foundation for our children.
If you know me, then you know that I am going to try and monetize anything and everything. I use to extreme coupon and I still love using coupon and discount apps regularly. And through this journey I have found so many apps to help you make money while you are getting healthy.
Low Carb Lasagna Broccoli Sausage Bake Recipe - Easy and Family Dinner Approved
Thursday, January 17, 2019
I created this easy keto lasagna broccoli bake recipe so my family could have a delicious meal time without too much fuss. My husband has been focusing on the low carb diet called ketogenic for over two years now and within the past year his family has started living this lifestyle as well. My mother-in-law is at her goal weight after years of not being able to lose any weight. She also did intermittent fasting.
What I love about this meal is that you can prep it ahead of time for an easy pop in the oven family dinner idea. I also love that there are left overs to make for easy meal prep. It also re-heats really well. The funny thing about how I came up with this recipe is, my husband bought a bunch of sausage brats on sale and we froze them. I saw them in the freezer after not being able to find any chicken and thought, "I bet I could throw something together with those". I searched a few recipes on Pinterest, but didn't see exactly what I was looking for based on what we had on hand. So this easy family recipe was created! And I wanted to share because it was definitely a crowd pleaser!
20 Keto Approved Dinner Ideas the Whole Family Will Enjoy
Wednesday, October 10, 2018
If you have been following my blog for any amount of time, then you know I have struggled with my weight. As adults, my husband and I are trying to learn what is healthy and what works for us because we never had very good or high quality food as children. It isn't that our parents didn't try their best, they just didn't know better themselves.
So trying to re-learn everything about the food pyramid has been difficult because the information that has been on the market can be misleading. My husband has wanted to get on the keto diet train for a while now and I told him if he helps me find recipes, then I am more than willing to try it. My in-laws have jumped on board and so now we have compiled a list of Keto Approved dinner ideas that the whole family is sure to enjoy!
How to Score a FREE Fitbit
Monday, April 9, 2018
NO this is not click bate and YES you read that right. If you searched "Lark app Free Fitbit scam" to get to this page, then I am here to tell you that THIS IS LEGIT!
I have been using an app called Lark for a few months now. It was recommended to me through my husband's work. Each year we have to take a health evaluation for our insurance. The Lark app was recommended to me because I have a history of diabetes in my family and this app is all about diabetes prevention. Please note: Not all insurance plans work with the Lark app.
I have an okay diet, but a pretty inactive lifestyle unless I go to the gym. I have a history of diabetes on both sides of my family. My husband did not qualify for the Lark app because the questions he answered didn't qualify him. As soon as I signed up I received a free digital scale that is directly connected to the app and updates my weight automatically. As long as you are active on the app, then you will get a FREE Fitbit (at a certain price point).

Tips to Stay Hydrated During Your Weightloss Journey
Thursday, May 25, 2017
This post was sponsored by BODYARMOR. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
I have been working on and sticking to my weight loss journey since the beginning of the year. I am extremely proud of my husband and I for sticking to this lifestyle change this time around. We have been eating more veggies, staying away from fried foods and sweets, getting more exercise, taking our vitamins, but the one thing that I have been struggling is drinking enough and staying hydrated.
It has been an on going battle, but knowing that my body can retain excess water weight if I don't get the proper hydration I needs has made me want to win. So here are so strategy tips I have collected to help me stay hydrated during my weightloss journey.
Importance of Taking a Daily Probiotic for Women
Tuesday, May 16, 2017
I have been on a health and wellness journey since January. I have tried to lose weight in the past, but I am just focusing on overall wellness which means a lifestyle change and if weightloss happens then that is great. I have been taking probiotics for a few years now. I started taking them when I was pregnant with my son and I noticed so many amazing results. I have been looking for a change in probiotic since I have been eating differently and exercising more.
I was recently introduced to NOW, which is a family-owned company since 1968 and was founded on the principle that quality natural health products should be affordable to everyone. Nearly 50 years later, NOW is a leader in the natural products industry, and their mission has remained the same: to provide value in products and services that empower people to lead healthier lives. What to Stream When You're Trying to Lose Weight
Wednesday, March 29, 2017
The hubby and I are running our first 5K on Saturday. From what I can tell, it's a color run so it isn't as competitive as other races seem to be. So it will be a great first 5K especially since we are beginning runners. We have started a weight loss journey and healthy lifestyle to become a #FitFam (fitness family). We want to be healthy. And to get in the mind set, we have been streaming different documentaries to help us in our process. I have made a list of what to stream when you are trying to lose weight.
P90X's Island Pork Tenderloin Recipe
Saturday, January 7, 2017
I have been trying to gradually lose weight. Really we are trying to get back into a healthy lifestyle. We ate WAY TOO much over the holidays and it just wasn't good for our health at all. I have started doing Beachbody's P90X again but this time I have changed it up so I can slowly get into it and not overwhelm myself. I am trying to start with our diet and first. I have been working out, but I am starting slow because I didn't realize how weak I was. Eating healthy can be very yummy. We actually enjoy eating foods that are better for us, but the unhealthy foods tend to be so much more convenient, unless you meal plan - which we have started doing again. Meal planning can also be cheaper on your wallet. Here's a recipe that is healthy, yummy, and pretty easy to make.

Merry Christmas! + Nutrisystem Results
Sunday, December 27, 2015
I received complimentary products from Nutrisystem to provide this post. All opinions are my own.
My daughter was out of school this week, so on Monday we headed to Zoo Atlanta with my sister-in-law and some of our friends. It was a lot of fun and I got a lot of steps in. We brought in our lunches and I had a great discussion about Nutrisystem and the great eating habits it has taught me. Tuesday I cleaned the house top to bottom to getting ready for company and wrapped all of the kiddos' presents from us.
I know I mentioned last week that we were going to go to The Varsity on Christmas Eve, but it has been very rainy in Georgia with flash flood watches so we decided to stay at my in-laws and have a nice steak dinner. I still can't believe my father-in-law went to the grocery store that morning.
Nurisystem Week 11 Update #nsnation
Sunday, December 20, 2015
Monday we started the week off with dance of course where they had a Santa and Peanut actually sat in his lap! Both were scared when we went before. SweetPea said she would have sat in his lap (even though she was scared) if she knew there were candy canes. LOL
This week has was SweetPea's last week of school before Winter Break and we all went as a family to her Christmas Party on Friday, then we took the kiddos to see The Good Dinosaur which was a GREAT movie and I seriously suggest taking your kiddos to see it.
Nutrisystem Week 10 Update #nsnation
Saturday, December 12, 2015
I received complimentary products from Nutrisystem to provide this post. All opinions are my own.
This week we celebrated my daughter's 5th birthday. You can see her birthday story and more HERE. She was the reason I started this blog, she is my rainbow baby, she is my sweet angel, and it is still so surreal that she is FIVE.
A pleasant surprise I received this week: A Nutribear! Very exciting to receive my "reward" for losing 20 pounds and I still can't believe I have done it. Starting this journey through this time of the year has been one of the most challenging things I have done.
Week 9 Nutrisystem Update #nsnation
Sunday, December 6, 2015
I received complimentary products from Nutrisystem to provide this post. All opinions are my own.
I started the week out with a stomach bug including fever. Yuck. Hubby was on vacation this week and we had made a schedule of what we wanted to do every day to make his time off work productive. But I ruined it the first day. Thankfully it was just a 24 hour bug. On Tuesday we went to go get our Christmas tree since it was suppose to rain all week.
Hubby was on vacation, so we cleaned out our room because over the weekend we bought a new bedroom set and mattress. It was WAY over due though. Our old one was an old 70's water bed frame. It even had the mirrors.
Nutrisystem Week 6 Update #NSNation
Sunday, November 15, 2015
I received complimentary products to provide this post. All opinions are my own.
This past week I have had more energy and maybe it's because I have been better about sticking to my meal plan? Or drinking more water? Or getting more exercise in? Or knowing I have deadlines to meet? LOL Whatever it is, it was a GOOD week. So I have decided to share some of the things I've learned since joining Nutrisystem and I thought I would share them with all of you.

Nutrisystem Week 3 Update #NSNation
Sunday, October 25, 2015
I received complimentary 3-month Nutrisystem plan to provide this post. All opinions are my own.
So I only lost a pound and a half. I was bad about recording my calories, I didn't drink enough water, and I didn't get my exercise in every day. But a loss is a loss and I'll take it.

The biggest hurdle this week? Getting my family to eat dinner. I have been incorporating what I have been learning into my family's diet. So that means more veggies, less processed meats and heavy carbs. My husband jumped right on board with this plan, but my kids aren't accepting the change quite as easily. My son is more willing to work on it than my daughter, but she is starting to try more.
We Had a lot of fall fun this week.
Week 2 Nutrisystem Results #NSNation

This week has been a little chaotic because I had very little energy. Power Fuels are key with Nutrisystem. Tuesday we went out to eat for lunch with the family. I ate something that wasn't what I would normally because I was trying to eat a little healthier, but it was considered a "Flex Meal" on Nutrisystem. That's what I love about this program, you can still enjoy eating out because you just need to think about the food choices you make. Then we headed to Panola Mountain State Park and went on a little hike. Hubby suggested it. I love that he is wanting to start getting healthier too.

Wednesday was my daughter's class field trip to Yule Forest to visit the pumpkin patch. Pictures to come. ;) Thursday my sister-in-law invited us to go to the park and we brought a little picnic lunch. Saturday we went to visit my mom and then SweetPea spent the night with my in-laws while we took Peanut to a friend's house to visit for his birthday. I did go a little off track and had a beer or two. I did feel a little guilty, but I had been very good all week and very rarely get to visit with friends, so I didn't feel too bad. :)
