Thanksgiving is the perfect time to slow down, reflect, and help our kids focus on gratitude. One of our favorite family traditions is our DIY Thankful Turkey for Kids, a fun and meaningful craft that grows with us every year!

Instead of making a new turkey each time, we created and laminated the turkey body, head, and feet so we can reuse them. Each November, we simply make new colorful feathers and write what our children are thankful for that year. By the end of the month, our turkey is full of sweet reminders of how blessed we are.

 I am happy as can BEE because the best Grandparents belong to me! I was searching for an easy printable craft to make with my 2k preschoolers for Grandparents Day. I found some on Esty, but they either had spelling errors or they weren't at the price point that I thought was fair to other teachers, especially private school preschool teachers. Since I am pretty handy at making printables, I thought I would give it a shot. A free bee image later and here is what I came up with. ENJOY!

Traveling this year? We have been doing some traveling of our own (check us out on Instagram) and I have been creating some fun free printables for you to enjoy full of screen free games to play in the car!  Introduce a new game every hour. If virtual learning has taught me anything, it is that I am NOT cut out to be a teacher. And everything our public teachers are having to deal with is so much on their plates. At my children's school they are having to figure out how to do a hybrid learning situation for those in class and online at the same time, all while trying to keep everyone engaged, paying attention, and on task. That has to be so stressful. So along with my nurse/doctor printable coloring page that I made back in March, I have decided to create this "Not All Heroes Wear Capes" Free Coloring Page about teachers.

6/29/2025 update:
With teachers leaving the profession in droves because not being paid enough of supported by superiors, we need to support them more than ever. Besides an easy cheap gift for Teachers Appreciation Week, this printable could be used in a classroom setting for Red Ribbon Week for younger classrooms and learning about community helpers.
