Our Formula for Happiness

When I was pregnant with my son, I was worried how a new little person would fit into our family. Newborns need so much attention and I was worried how my toddler would feel. But as soon as we came home from the hospital, my little man fit into our family. We have a system set up and it has helped us find our formula for happiness.

A Year in Review #BehindTheBlogger

Dear 2015 Me,

We had a great year. You worked your booty off on the blog and had the most productive year yet. Hubby had a great year too and got promoted to a great high profile store. He is learning so much and happy for the experience. Sweet Pea is doing great in school. Her teachers always talk about how social and smart she is. Peanut is your bouncing baby toddler now. You can't believe how much he has grown in a year.

We did some great things as a family. We went to White Water, Dragon*Con, strawberry picking, and to the lake more than a few times. We had a great vacation in Panama City Beach, FL with the whole family. SweetPea started dance and you couldn't be more proud of her. She turned five this year and that is just crazy. You celebrated your 8 year wedding anniversary too.

5 Years Ago... #BehindTheBlogger

I am just going to let you all know that this post is going to be a very personal post. I started my blog as a kind of online baby book of sorts. A place I could write out my thoughts about becoming a first time mom. My first pregnancy was beyond my hardest pregnancy in so many ways, so I had a lot to write about. I like to go back and read some older posts, I wish more than anything I wrote every little detail down because I left so much out in order to not upset anyone. But it was real and what I was going through. Writing has always been very therapeutic for me. So I am detouring away from reviews and giveaways today, to share a very personal story. I hope hat maybe some of you can relate in some way to what I went through and that maybe you too can find some kind of peace.

How We Celebrated Independence Day {Wordless Wednesday LINKY}

We went to the lake all weekend. We were surrounded by friends and family. And then we went and watched a spectacular fireworks display on the lake while sitting in my in-law's boat. It was pretty cool. It was my first time doing that. Peanut slept through all of the fireworks. It was way past his bed time.

Friday we went to the lake and Peanut fell asleep on the boat ride to dinner. He woke up half way through.

Family Is What You Make It #streamteam

I am a member of the Netflix #StreamTeam and received complimentary products to share this post. All opinions are my own.

Families. We’ve all got one, but these days they’re starting to look less like The Cleavers and gone are the days of the white picket fence. My family was hardly picture perfect growing up. My parents were divorced and I had a hard time getting along with either step-parent. It was just my brother, me, and my half-sister that were there for each other. And then I met my husband's family. They look pretty picture perfect in every way, including taking me in and treating me like one of their own. We fight, but we would do anything for each other and that's really what it's all about.

Grace and Frankie, Netflix's new funny and fearless original comedy featuring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston, is a perfect example of how today’s families can shift, rearrange and blend in unexpected ways. When Grace and Frankie’s husbands leave them after 20 years of marriage - to be with each other - the women find themselves facing a change that they never expected, but they shift their perspective to get through it together with the support of their new blended family and, of course, a sense of humor.

Mini Milestones: Introducing Netflix #StreamTeam

I was recently invited to be a part of the Netflix Stream Team, which I'm very excited about! Netflix is a service that allows you to stream movies and television shows for a low monthly subscription fee. You can stream on your wireless device, smart TV, and some Blu-ray and DVD players, as well as game consoles, like Wii and XBOX. Each month I'll write about a different selected "theme" and include recipes and crafts for fun with the entire family.

This is my first month and this month's theme is "Mini Milestones".

Time Well Spent

A lot has changed for our family in the past two years. My husband got promoted, we got pregnant, my husband turned 30, we celebrated a decade together, went to one income (again), and introduced a new person into our family; becoming a family of four.

When we were thinking about growing our family, we decided that we needed to look at our health insurance plan and decide if it truly was the best plan for us.

Disney's "Alexander & the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" + Giveaway

I received the same prize pack in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.

Disney’s upcoming live action movie “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” opens on October 10th and is sure to be a funny movie for the whole family.

Disney’s "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day" follows the exploits of 11 year old Alexander (Ed Oxenbould) as he experiences the most terrible and horrible day of his young life - a day that begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by one calamity after another. But when Alexander tells his upbeat family about the misadventures of his disastrous day, he finds little sympathy and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him. He soon learns that he’s not alone when his mom (Jennifer Garner), dad (Steve Carell), brother (Dylan Minnette) and sister (Kerris Dorsey) all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day. Anyone who says there is no such thing as a bad day just hasn’t had one.

How My Family Lives Beautifully + #SuaveFamilySelfie Giveaway

This is a sponsored post on behalf of Global Influence. All opinions are my own.

Do you take selfies? What about of your family? We are a family of 4 now and although we have always taken selfies (before I even knew that's what they were called), it is increasingly getting harder. But you want to capture the moment of your family living beautifully, right?

Our family lives beautifully by exploring attractions around town.
