Families. We’ve all got one, but these days they’re starting to look less like The Cleavers and gone are the days of the white picket fence. My family was hardly picture perfect growing up. My parents were divorced and I had a hard time getting along with either step-parent. It was just my brother, me, and my half-sister that were there for each other. And then I met my husband's family. They look pretty picture perfect in every way, including taking me in and treating me like one of their own. We fight, but we would do anything for each other and that's really what it's all about.
Grace and Frankie, Netflix's new funny and fearless original comedy featuring Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston, is a perfect example of how today’s families can shift, rearrange and blend in unexpected ways. When Grace and Frankie’s husbands leave them after 20 years of marriage - to be with each other - the women find themselves facing a change that they never expected, but they shift their perspective to get through it together with the support of their new blended family and, of course, a sense of humor.

Love Netflix when there is nothing on to watch. As far as family goes, neither side is picture perfect! LOL
ReplyDeleteFamily is definitely what you make it and sometimes family isn't the people with whom you share names and DNA. As for Netflix, I have an account and rarely watch anymore. I need to get back to that!
ReplyDeleteI have never watched or used netflix yet, but I think that is maybe something I should be looking into.
ReplyDeleteIn our family its my husband, son and myself. But I grew up without my father, had several step-fathers (but my mom never married), and was often just her and I
I love Netflix! I wish they updated a little more often, but we've found so many great shows from Netflix!
ReplyDeleteI love netflix! We use it all the time and its so easy with the kids separate menu! Thanks for the post!
ReplyDeleteLOVE these ideas! I can always use new Netflix ideas. I am watching Switched at Birth right now and it's amazing. I finished Parenthood and The Fosters recently- both are incredible. I think my next show will be Life Unexpected or Grace and Frankie. Thanks for the recommendations!
ReplyDeleteI have heard great things about this show. I am going to watch it.
