6 Yummy Make-at-Home Smoothie Recipes to Jump Start Your Resolutions

Smoothies are a great way to start your morning because they are so easy to make plus you can store your dry ingredients in the freezer. You can prep your ingredients for the week and store them in the freezer. When you are ready to make your smoothie, just add everything to the blender with your liquid and you are good to go! My New Year Resolution was to eat at home more and making my own smoothies at home helps me not pay for something on-the-go. So today I'm sharing some yummy smoothies recipes, most the are vegan and gluten free!

Vegan Gluten Free Smoothie Recipes

DIY Vegan and Gluten Free Smoothie Recipes

Chocolate "Sh-moothie" (Vegan & Gluten Free)

2 tbsp. unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 tbsp. sunflower seed butter
1 tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tbsp. agave nectar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Place all ingredients in blender and puree until smooth. Banana slices must be frozen since there is no added ice. Contains 14g of protein!

Peanut Butter Power Smoothie (Vegan)
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
3/4 cup uncooked rolled oats, ground to a dust in a coffee grinder - great source of protein & fiber
1/2 cup FROZEN banana slices
2 tbsp. creamy peanut butter
1 tbsp. agave nectar

Place milk and oats in blender and blend for 1-2 minutes. Make sure to use only the best peanut butter for this recipe. Look for natural, organic butter with no added sugars or hydrogenated oils. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth.

I love storing my smoothie ingredients in the freezer in mason jars. I like these Ball Quart Mason Jars Jars that I found at Oriental Trading because they were a steal. I can blend everything from my jar and then serve in it as well. I love mason jars for décor or crafts and of course all kinds of food storage. The sky really is the limit on what you can use them for.
