As this school year comes to a close, I’ve been feeling all the emotions. My daughter is wrapping up her very first year of school (3K) and even though she only attends three days a week, the growth I’ve seen in her has been incredible.

I truly love her school. The environment, the support, and especially her teachers have made such a difference in her confidence and development. Watching her learn, make friends, and become more independent has been such a blessing.

And if you’re a parent, you know, great teachers deserve to be celebrated.

 

 

Why Teacher Appreciation Gifts Matter

Teachers pour so much into our children every single day. They encourage, guide, comfort, and educate, often going far beyond what’s required of them. At the end of the school year, I always want to do something meaningful to say thank you.

Now, I’ll be honest, I completely flopped on Christmas gifts this past year. Life got busy, and before I knew it, the moment had passed. So, this time, I really wanted to do something a little extra special.

Not over-the-top. Not expensive. Just thoughtful.

When I got pregnant with my son, I wanted to wait until delivery to find out what we were having. I had heard about gender regret and didn't want that to be an issue for us. I don't know if I would have been upset if we had another girl or not. I truly think I just wanted to have a healthy baby, but I knew it was a thing. So, it was worth the wait.

I was thrown a baby for my second born shower because it was said to me, "Every baby deserves to be celebrated." Many people asked me what I needed (we weren't finding out the gender before my second was born), "well what do you need? Don't you already have everything?" Good question. Because if we were having a boy, no we didn't have everything because we would need clothes. But we weren't finding out, so what do you get the couple who isn't finding out AND this isn't their first baby?
