The Juppy Baby Walker {Review & Giveaway}

I received a Juppy Baby Walker to provide this review. All opinions are 100% my own.

The Juppy Baby Walker Review and Giveaway

What is The Juppy Baby Walker "Momentum"?

The Juppy "Momentum" is a solution to a previously recognized but unsolved challenge for parents of babies beginning to walk. Babies strong enough to begin walking but not strong enough to walk alone. The Juppy builds confidence in your baby and teaches balance while you maintain your natural posture, eliminating the grueling task of hunching over while teaching your baby to walk.

Why I think The Juppy Baby Walker is a great product:

- Allows your baby to explore while being protected by you.
- Let's baby use natural momentum by freeing their arms from being held.
- Easy to use and compact enough to fit in diaper bag or purse.

The Juppy Baby Walker Review

I tried it out on Sweet Pea and although she is already walking, I could really see how it is sturdy enough to hold them up if they were going to fall while not breaking your back. And I love the little handy carrying pouch, makes it fit perfectly in your diaper bag!

Help Kids #SeeMuchMore with Clicks

When I was in middle school, I struggled through 6th grade. I had all the common signs of vision problems include squinting, head tilting, avoiding “close work,” trouble focusing, continuous rubbing of eyes, and headaches. I had teachers who wouldn't move me forward when I said that I couldn't see the board because then other children in the class would try and say they couldn't see it either, so it was causing too much chaos. When I went into 7th grade my mom took me to the eye doctor for the first time. My mom is legally blind without her glasses and has been wearing them since she was nine months old. I remember the entire process of getting glasses. My mom had okay insurance that did provide an eye exam and a pair of glasses, but we were lucky. This year, 15 million kids will go back to school with undiagnosed vision problems. That's 1 in 4 children who has an undetected vision condition that can negatively impact learning.

Cute picture of my mom when she was young.

As the only national not-for-profit in vision care, VSP reinvests in the things its nearly 60 million members value most – the best care at the lowest out-of-pocket costs. With a network of 30,000 doctors and highest credentialing requirements, VSP members have the freedom to choose the provider, location, and eyewear that’s right for them. It’s easy to see why VSP is consumers’ #1 choice in vision care.

VSP Vision Care actively seeks opportunities to increase access to quality eye care and eye wear, such as partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters. VSP developed the “Clicks for Kids” campaign to generate awareness about the importance of healthy vision for children to learn and succeed. When you Click for Kids, VSP Vision Care will donate a gift certificate valid for a free comprehensive eye exam and, if needed, a pair of glasses to a “Little” brother or sister served by the Big Brothers Big Sisters program – for up to 25,000 Littles! This charitable program ends November 15, 2013. You can choose to have VSP donate to the Big Brothers Big Sisters program closest to you or select the program with the most need. This is a great activity you can do with your own children to teach them about the importance of giving. An annual comprehensive eye exam can help them learn and experience life to the fullest. It is recommended that Parents take their children to the eye doctor for a comprehensive eye exam starting as young as six months old, then again at three years old, before kindergarten, and every year after that. In-school screenings do not provide the same level of detection as comprehensive eye exams. 80 percent of what we learn is through our eyes, making an eye exam essential for your back-to-school “to do” list.

What are the benefits of enrolling in vision insurance? With VSP Vision Care, you can:
- Keep your eyes healthy with highly credentialed doctors who provide the most thorough exams.
- Save money – the average VSP member saves approximately $320 each year with vision insurance!
- Get access to great eye wear – more than two dozen brands and hundreds of styles to choose from!
- Enable your family to experience life to the fullest.

What do you think of VSP? Have you included getting your child an eye exam on your back-to-school "to do" list?

FabFitFun VIP Summer Box Review

I received a complimentary FabFitFun box to provide this review. All opinions are 100% my own.

FabFitFun is a NEW subscription box by Giuliana Rancie. It comes with that season's HOT items! I received the summer box to review. And here is what came in it:

FabFitFun Summer Box Review

This was such a FUN box to receive! My favorite thing was the Yes To Cucumber Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes*. I used them all in a WEEK! They went so fast because you can use them for EVERYTHING! I didn't care for the ivory + mason sunglasses, but on that cad is a way to exchange for ones that I would prefer! How cool is that?

It also came with Orly Mash Up-Sparkling Garba Nail Polish* that although I didn't care for the color, It looked super cute on SweetPea. The KIND dark chocolate chili almond bar was different, but yummy. The IT Haircare Surf Spray* made my hair super wavy, just like it is at the beach. I'm not use to having product in my hair and it has that "product" feel, but I need a hair cut, so that may be a contributor.

The CATALINASU lip gloss was AMAZING! I LOVED the color and am keeping it in bag permanently! The Evian Facial Water Spray* is VERY refreshing. I love the way my face feels after using it. I haven't used the Infinity Sun Glow On the Go* or the Purlisse Pur-Delicate Cleansing Cream * yet. I'll let you know how they turn out!

Barely the Size of a Kumquat

That's what I read on BabyCenter today (or a prune according to TheBump or a Strawberry if you look at my side bar and see my LilyPie ticker).

10 weeks: Baby is the size of a strawberry
Original Source

The exciting news this week? Baby has fingernails. FINGERNAILS!

Now for the other stuff. I want to stay open with all of my readers. I was in the beginning through my first pregnancy's journey and I want to through this one as well. With that said, I have a doctor's appointment on Monday. I have been spotting the past few days. Very lightly. But I am past the point where it could be implantation bleeding. I haven't been doing anything crazy, like lifting boulders or running a marathon. So I'm impatiently awaiting my appointment. Today, my nausea has subsided and that just makes me even more nervous. I never spotted with Sweet Pea. I read that some women have more cramps and spotting with the second, but I don't know how true that is and can't find any explanation as to why. My sister-in-law is a nurse and she said she thinks I am fine. It's so wonderful to have a medical professional in the family. She eased my mind a lot.

Sweet Pea eating kale at trivia

So needless to say, I have been taking it easy. I was craving steak yesterday and Hubby took me out to get one. We also played trivia for the first time in ever. Sweet Pea did so good that we are thinking of making it a weekly thing. Sweet Pea is also mastering potty training. She has become a pro. She even stayed dry through dinner last night. I couldn't be more proud.

My appointment on Monday makes me nervous because not only because of what I have going on, but I also have to go by myself. Hubby couldn't get it off work because of Labor Day being so close and my mother-in-law is watching Sweet Pea for us. The only time I went to an appointment by myself, I had to go straight to the hospital to be induced due to pre-eclampsia.
So needless to say I haven't been sleeping well and a bundle of nerves.

Official Nuby Mommy Blogger

Something else exciting has happened today, I got an email confirming I am official Nuby Mommy Blogger. So keep an eye out for exciting reviews and possible giveaways! I am very excited to be a part of their team because I have been loving Nuby products for almost three years now. And I can't wait to share their new products with all of you.

So that's how we are doing this week. How has your week been going? Please share below or if you have a post, I'd love to see for myself. :)

My Baby the Garlic Stuffed Olive

Okay so technically turned over to 9 weeks preggo on Friday. I have Mommy Brain and Pregnancy Brain combined. It's bad around here. Bare with me, please. :)
According to The Bump, our baby is now the size of a green olive (a grape according to Baby Center). So I handed my Hubby a jar of these Private Selection Garlic Stuffed Olives that we had in the pantry and said, "This is the size of your baby." We got a good giggle out of it.

9 weeks pregnant: baby is the size of an olive

I did this little what's going on this week thing when I was pregnant SweetPea, so I will try and update each week. :)

How Far Along?
9 weeks (& 4 days as of today)

Total Weight Gain:
None as of yet. :)

Sleep:
I had some restless sleep last night, but I have been exhausted and since I'm not uncomfortable yet and besides crazy pregnancy dreams that I can't remember the next morning, I have been sleeping ah-may-zing! Sometimes with naps for good measure. :)

Cravings:
Ice CREAM! But I haven't been giving in. ;)

Movement:
Nope. I have been feeling phantom flutters since a few weeks after I gave birth to SweetPea, so if I feel anything I still think that's what it is.

Best Moment This Week:
When we ask SweetPea if she wants a brother or sister, she says brother. We will also ask her where the baby is and she points to my belly and says "Tummy Baby" or "Baby Tummy".

Milestones:
Graduating to fetus. :)

Favorite Moments:
Re-Announcing our pregnancy to family at the family reunion on Saturday
2nd pregnancy announcement t-shirt

It's crazy how many things are different this time around. Laws are different for goodness sake! LOL Here's my little go to list. I have been asked why didn't you I something so many times by family that it truly is getting ridiculous. So I decided to make a go to cheat sheet, so we can go step-by-step exactly what has changed since the almost three years since I was pregnant with SweetPea.

Things That Are Different This Pregnancy:
1. cell phones, smart phones, apps - I got an Android smart phone that my pregnancy brain is making me forget the name of when SweetPea was first born. And it was considered a smart phone, but Androids didn't have all the apps that iPhones had back then PLUS there are even more apps now for smart phones that make keeping track of diapers, feedings, and all sorts of other things that would have been really useful! Like reminders for weekly/monthly pregnancy photos, tracking weight gain, or staying social on message boards. PLUS my phone I had when I was pregnant with SweetPea was a crappy flip phone with terrible picture quality.

2. breast pump through insurance - Thanks to new legislation, you can go through your insurance to get a breast pump. I had a hand-me-down Evenflo Comfort Select Double Performance Dual Auto-Cycling Breast Pump that my sister-in-law gave me. It was horrible. And although some people just aren't good at pumping, no matter what they do, I think my pump was a major problem in my pumping situation. It would have been nice to get Sweet Pea use to a bottle, so I could have a guilt-free night every now and again.

3. Rear Facing until age 2 - I felt forced to forward face Sweet Pea too early. Before I wanted to. And now looking back at it, others had the dumbest, most selfish reasons. But it is now the LAW that children stay rear-facing until age 2. The exciting thing though, I already have a brand-new infant carrier thanks to blogging. :)

4. No more drop down cribs - We have one and actually this changed right before Sweet Pea was born when we already had our crib. We just don't use the drop down side feature. When people ask us if we had lowered our crib, they need to remember - our crib is already lower than non- drop down side cribs.

I'm sure I can think of some more. But my previous pregnancy turned into mommy brain and now I have it mixed with pregnancy again, making my memory mommy brain worse x2. So that's what's new with us. How has your week been?

Homemade Hummus Recipe with Green Giant Veggie Snacks

I am excited to work with Green Giant on reviewing their new chip varieties: Green Giant Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chip - Garden Ranch and Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chip - Barbecue! We have been huge fans of the Green Giant chip line for a few months now.

Green Giant: Veggie Snacks

As most of you know I have been on a weightloss journey since September of last year and now that I am pregnant it is even more important that I eat healthy alternative snacks (because goodness knows I don't want to have the blood pressure issues I had with Sweet Pea). That's why I love Green Giant veggie chips. They fit our on the go lifestyle perfectly, but leave me feeling fuller and more satisfied than the alternative with a healthy dose of veggies. You should still eat your, these are in no way a substitute.

Green Giant Veggie Chips #GiantFlavor

As far as snack options goes I feel confident letting my daughter eat them and as you can see she was a HUGE fan of the new Barbecue flavor! Garden Ranch was a personal favorite. I ate it with some hummus to give it that extra nutritional punch. SO GOOD!

Homemade Hummus Recipe:

Pin to Pinterest:

What you need:
1 clove garlic
1 (19 ounce) can garbanzo beans, half the liquid reserved
4 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons tahini
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon salt
black pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil

Directions:
1. In a blender, chop the garlic. Pour garbanzo beans into blender, reserving about a tablespoon for garnish. Place lemon juice, tahini, chopped garlic and salt in blender. Blend until creamy and well mixed.
2. Transfer the mixture to a medium serving bowl. Sprinkle with pepper and pour olive oil over the top. Garnish with reserved garbanzo beans.

What do you think of Green Giant Veggie Snacks and of the new flavors? Do you have any favorite dips or snacking tips that you would love to try with Green Giant Veggie Snacks? Please share them below!

Stories from the Brightside #hfbrightside

I am so excited to share this blog post as part of a paid SocialMoms and Happy Family blogging program. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own because we have been HUGE fans of Happy Family's product line for a long time!

Messy Eater - Happy Baby Stories from the Bright Side

When SweetPea was testing out foods, she always had this very clear way of telling me she liked something...
most of it would end up on her. Seriously, she would maybe get a total of two complete bites in her mouth. But her hair, clothes, and high chair received most of the morsels.
One time we were having spaghetti and she loved it so much that she rubbed it in her hair. So we headed up stairs for a bath as soon as she was finished eating. On the way up she accidentally touched the wall (multiple times) and my carpeted stair way. When we came back down stairs, the dog had decided to treat himself to the unrated portions of spaghetti making my (again carpeted) dining room floor a vibrant red color. The bright side? She enjoyed her spaghetti! :D

My daughter has always been a huge fan of the Happy Family product line. Happy Family is the first organic brand to offer a complete line of nutrient-rich foods for babies’, toddlers’, and kids’ growing bodies. Constantly innovating, Happy Family has been a pioneer in the industry, adding extra nutrition to its products—like Salba, the super chia, probiotics, and Choline for brain health—whenever possible

Every parent has had food thrown at them, experienced temper-tantrums, and/or received flat-out refusal to eat something at some point in their parenting career. Bring some of these moments to life by hopping over to the Bright Side on Happy Family’s Facebook page to share a video or written story and image of your own to win $20,000 toward your child's college tuition!

Happy Family also partnered with some great mommy and daddy bloggers to improv their very own "Stories from the Brightside" and bring them to life.
This week it was Kristen Chase from Motherhood Uncensored

How do you get your kids to eat their veggies?

I know some of you have your own viral tells of food time hishaps. So why don't you submit your own "Stories from the Brightside" on Happy Family's Facebook Page and take a shot at $20,000 for your child's college tuition? Don't forget to grab a $0.50 off any Happy Family product coupon while you're there or a $1 off Happy Tot or Happy Baby pouches!

This blog post is part of a paid SocialMoms and Happy Family blogging program. The opinions and ideas expressed here are my own.

We are going to be a family of 4...

So if you follow me on Instagram (and you should be), then I let some really huge news get out...Click HERE to see how I told my husband...

In March, Sweet Pea is getting promoted to big sister!

We got our BFP on July 16, which as some of you may know, that day isn't a good day for me at all, so it was truly wonderful to see those two little pink lines.

I went to the doctor for my yearly exam a few days later. They told me it took a while to show up which just meant that I was early. 4 weeks, 5 days by my calculations. But we at least felt comfortable enough to tell our immediate families.

Waiting for my ultrasound felt like FOREVER! I was so scared. I found out with Sweet Pea when I was already 7 weeks, so finding out that early made the whole process more nerve racking.

Appleseed's First Ultrasound

I had my first ultrasound when I was 6 weeks, 4 days. Baby had a strong heartbeat and was measuring perfectly.

I'm sorry it has taken this long to announce on here. We had to call family members and make sure grandparents, great-grandparents, etc knew before we could tell anyone. Thank you to everyone who has sent the congrats, we really appreciate it!

I am 8 weeks today and although not suffering from the exorcist-like nausea I did experiences with Sweet Pea, I am still having my moments. So far though, this has been such a smoother pregnancy *knock on wood*. No weird red splotchy skin this time around, except the weird spots on my face are still showing, but my Pond's BB Cream (review to come) is helping with that.

Anyways, thank you all for bearing with me with my lack of posts and I hope to keep updating you all each week! :)

Tea Time with Toddlers #CadburyHighTea

I received a party kit as part of a promotional program with Cadbury and MomSelect to facilitate this review. All opinions are 100% my own.

Tea Time with Toddlers #CadburyHighTea

The weather has been horrible in Georgia. I mean it's nice to not have to deal with the usual summer drought, but with a toddler we have been having to stay in doors...a lot. So to spice up our usual routines, I decided to have a tea party thanks to Mommy Parties and Cadbury. I planned a big event than what in actuality happened...because of the rain. Not everyone came and we couldn't play some of the games plus I had more decorations, but the show must go on!

The first treat the girl had were Cucumber with Cream Cheese. They had never had the treat before, but they loved it!

Cucumber with Cream Cheese - Tea Party Food

The next thing we did was play a little game where we read each other's tea leaves. This one was more for the adults. All you do is heat water and pour intoa cup. Sprinkle in some tea leaves. After the tea has steeped, the leaves will begin to rest at the bottom of the cup. Drink and enjoy your tea. Then when you are finished, dump the remaining liquid onto the saucer or a napkin. Then, flip the cup up right to read the symbols left by the tea leaves. You may see something that represents a circle, number, letter, animal, or other things. You have to be creative and make up your own meaning to the symbols left by your tea leaves, but it is really fun to think of crazy things.
