YAY it's October! That means sweaters, boots, all things pumpkin, and HALLOWEEN! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Before I had kiddos, I loved dressing up, going to themed parties, and even catching the Rocky Horror Picture Show live on stage in Atlanta. Those days are long behind me and now we have more kid-friendly festivities. And I'm TOTALLY okay with that!


Besides dressing the kiddos up in their super cute costumes, we love to go to our local pumpkin patch, enjoy some hayrides, carving pumpkins, indulge in too much candy, and watch Netflix for all of our spooky (the kid friendly way) streaming.

Do your little ones know what they are going to be for Halloween this year? This is the first year that my son was adamant about being Batman, even though he was last year too. So I talked to my daughter and we all decided that we could do a family theme and go as different members of the Justice League. These Halloween costumes and many, many more were easily found at Oriental Trading.

Halloween is a great time of year, and it’s very nearly here. While not every country in the world celebrates it as aggressively as others, it’s important to note that many do. For a child, this time of year can be quite scary. We may even remember feeling this way ourselves.

That being said, it’s important to allow them to engage in these festivities and to help them celebrate this time with others. Trick or treating can be a great part of that, but in order to settle their fears it may be that eschewing the scary outfits that adults wear and allowing them a time to simply dress up and have fun is important.

Do your little ones know what they are going to be for Halloween this year? My son is still kind of young to actually tell me what he wants to be while my daughter keeps going back and forth. Halloween time is here! I love celebrating every holiday to it's fullest and if I can take this time of year to show my neighbors or people close to me how much they mean to me, then that is what I am going to do. When we first moved into our neighborhood, someone sent us a neighborhood Christmas gram and we never figured out who did it, but it was such a fun idea! I wish I had taken a picture of it. So I have decided this All Hallows Eve (Spooky Season) season that I would share a fun printable to get into the spirit and share spooky treats with my neighbors. With Boo Baskets becoming a trend again, this a fun kid-friendly option that they will surely love!

In our house, September means getting ready for Halloween! It is one of my favorite holidays, if not my favorite. I love dressing up and decorating, creating spooky recipes for the kids, or watching family-friendly scary movies, but I love that there isn't all the pressure that tends to come with Christmas. This year my kiddos didn't know what they wanted to dress up as for Halloween, so when I was asked to try out Flappy suits, I thought what a great opportunity to let my kids choose what they want to be.

Help Out the Tooth Fairy this Halloween
She can't do it alone!

It is hard to believe, but there are MILLIONS of at-risk kids that can't sleep at night, eat properly or even concentrate in school because of painful tooth decay. Without the financial resources for dental care or even a toothbrush or toothpaste, many of these kids find themselves caught in a downward spiral of pain and humiliation that affects them well into their adult lives. Tooth decay is preventable, yet it continues to hurt our most vulnerable children.
