Natural Ways to Relieve Stress

I have anxiety. It's not a thing that I usually share over social media, but it is a very real part of who I am. I believe I have had issues with anxiety since I was in high school, but I was never properly diagnosed. I don't like doctors or traditional medicines, but I am not against them AT ALL. I think that you shouldn't be afraid to seek help because there is nothing wrong with it. For me, personally, I just like to try and find a more natural approach.

Natural Ways to Relieve Stress

With all things mom life, I have decided to share some tips I think help relieve stress naturally and please feel free to share some ways that help you in the comments below.

1. Exercise. Yoga...or Pilates...really any sort of exercise can be relaxing because it releases endorphins and endorphins make you happy. Thank you, Legally Blond.

2. Meditation. Although quiet time can be hard with kiddos running around, if you can find the time, I hear it helps. Meditation has been shown to be beneficial for overall health, including reducing stress levels, improving sleep quality, and creating a sense of calm. Some people find that their meditation results could be enhanced by using healing crystals during the session. Crystals have been known for centuries as powerful tools for anxiety and depression. For example, lapis lazuli crystal is said to help promote feelings of serenity and peace. Ultimately, using crystals during meditation can help create a more relaxed and focused state of mind, resulting in deeper meditation and better overall results. I tend to not find enough quiet time to meditate, but my friend who works out of the home likes to meditate in her car before she gets out of her car when she goes into work and then at the end of the day before she makes the long trip home.

3. Emotional Connection with a pet.
It is well-documented that spending time with animals can have a calming and therapeutic effect on humans. For people who suffer from anxiety, depression, or other mental health conditions, an emotional support animal (ESA) can be an invaluable source of support. An ESA is a pet that has been specifically chosen to provide companionship and emotional comfort. In order to qualify for an ESA, you must have an ESA housing letter from a licensed mental health professional documenting your need for the animal. Once you have this letter, many landlords and airlines will make reasonable accommodations to allow you to bring your ESA with you.

4. Invest in a Himalayan Salt Lamp. Everyday appliances such as televisions, cell phones, computers and tablets release positive ions into the air constantly. These and other common electronics can cause an overflow of electromagnetic radiation (EM), which, although invisible, is believed to cause some serious long-term effects. Constant exposure to EM radiation is known primarily to cause fatigue, increase stress and weaken the immune system. Himalayan salt lamps emit negative ions and cancel out positive ones. Therefore, by neutralizing electromagnetic radiation, they help reduce artificial frequencies and even prevent static buildup. They can also be used as an aid in color therapy as well.

5. Enjoy a Bubble Bath. With bath salts and aromatherapy like lavender. Mmm...this is my happy place. This is my number one way I love to relax. I once was not a bath person, but since having my son, I have become one. The additive factor of heat allows the oils to soak into your skin and so it effects your bloodstream. This will loosen the blood flow and improve your circulation as well.

6. Reevaluate Your Diet. I know, I know...this one is a tough one for sure. But seriously the more studies I have come across, your diet effects your overall health in more ways than you realize.

7. Indulge in a massage or ask Hubby for one. I pay to get the extra massage when I go get a pedicure. It really is relaxing, certain spots though I am a little ticklish...which brings me to my next point. 7. Aromatherapy. Exposing your senses to strong smelling chemicals such as essential oils can positively affect your hormone production, brain chemistry, and stress levels. Popular scents are rose, mandarin, peppermint, clary sage, lemon balm, and lavender.

8. Treat Yourself to a Baltic Amber Mother's Necklace. Not just for teething babies anymore. Amber Bracelets are highly effective for controlling the pain of rheumatism, arthritis, and aching muscles and joints. Amber is also an anti-anxiety remedy that rids fatigue and weariness, excellent pain relief for head, neck and throat areas, especially for congestion.

  6. These are wonderful ideas! A few that I'd add (that have worked for me personally) are: Spending time with my cats, doing crafts, and just spending time outdoors (esp. on a nice day). This last one has really been nice and therapeutic now that it's finally springtime!
    Thanks,

  9. I would love to win because I love Baltic amber necklaces! I got my youngest daughter one when she was 3 months old. She is now about to turn 4 and still wears one. I have no idea if they actually work or not, but she loves hers and I never had any issues with her teething. I would choose a mothers necklace because I would love to try one for myself!
