I am going to be the mother of two children. TWO! Wow, and time just seems to be flying by. I can't even imagine the noise that is going to take over this house. That's why I was excited when we received the Dohmie by Marpac Serious Sleep Baby Bundle to review.

Every new mom deserves some sleep and the Dohmie by Marpac Sound Machine can seriously help with that. Sweet Pea loves the sleep machine. She asks for it every night and it helps her go straight to sleep with no question asked, even in the middle of the day with my lawn people working on my yard. And I love hearing it through the baby monitor. It helps me go to sleep soundly as well. And being 22 weeks pregnant, I need all the sleep I can manage to get in between kicks and punches from this little one. When this little one gets here, I feel confident that getting the baby to sleep even while vacuuming or when her older rambunctious toddler sister is running around making noise.

The Dohm creates a natural white noise to help babies fall and stay asleep, allowing the rest of the family to seep easier or carry on with normal household activities. The Dohm’s sound is seamless and continuous because it uses electromechanical technology to create the natural sound of rushing air, unlike other white noise machines that work on a digital loop and cut off after a set period of time. The Dohm is lightweight, easy-to-use and can travel with you where you go. I love that it plugs into the wall and doesn't rely on batteries like so many other sleep machines. The sound it produces reminds me of the mimicked sound of the womb, which babies are very fond of. It's easy to change the volume of the sound as well. The Dohmie by Marpac Serious Sleep Baby Bundle comes with the sleep machine and a book that my daughter enjoyed as well. My daughter who is very sensitive to loud noises, especially the vacuum cleaner, LOVES falling asleep to this machine at the age of THREE.

I am still nervous about having two little ones. But I think if this little machine can get my rambunctious toddler to sleep easier, then I know we will be okay. If I can just get one of them to sleep through the night, then we will doing just fine.

What do you think of the Dohmie by Marpac Serious Sleep Baby Bundle? Did you ever use white noise for your little ones to sleep easier?

If you are here to learn the safety of white noise machines for infants, Dr. Harvey Karp (author of "Happiest Baby Guide to Great Sleep") has written a great article that addresses the issues with the study HERE.

  1. I love white noise machines even as an adult, it's so nice to turn them on at night so that if others in the house start to stir before I do,I don't hear them making breakfast or what not.

  4. As a kid I used machines such as this, and have continued the same with all my kids. I have an app on my phone where you can create your own sounds. Currently mine is windchimes, thunder, and wind, so I understand that noises, especially white noise makes for a heavier more deeper sleep. Making anyone feel more rested.

I noticed you mentioned "her" in reference to the bump. Did y'all finally see what the gender was?

    1. I did say her. Probably out of habit or maybe my preggo brain just has a feeling. ;) But no, we don't know yet...

    1. My daughter doesn't have a fan in her room, which is staying the nursery. :/ But we used fans when my niece & nephew were little. They are great for reducing SIDS as well. :)

  7. Right now we are using an air purifier because I couldn't find a sound machine that didn't have a timer. I may have to look into this. Thanks!

  11. I think this machine literally "sounds" { :) } awesome. I didn't get one for my little one, yet. I've looked into it, since I REALLY love white noise and need it to fall asleep, and noticed when she was sleeping in the bedroom she'd fall asleep to it too! She has now transitioned to her crib and I think it's time for her own machine! Thanks so much for the review!

  12. This looks like a great little noise machine! We have been using one since our baby was born, and my hubby keeps saying he wants to get one for me because I always need either the fan or heater on to fall asleep. I love that you linked the article referring to the study on the "danger" of these machines. I couldn't believe when I first saw the headlines, it's presented in such a sensationalist, distorted way. It's irresponsible to say the least!

    1. Agreed. It's like Dr. Karp says, "Tired parents sometimes need to be reminded of the dangers. Even car seats can be dangerous if used improperly."
