After two years of a DreamWorks theater release, I am excited to announce Spirit Untamed will be riding into theaters on June 4th, 2021.

When we think of ‘beauty standards,’ it’s not hard to think of oppressive, unhappy and often limiting criteria that we feel we must meet before we feel our best selves. This is, of course, certainly a wish to fit the ideal, but also a wish to fit the beauty standards proposed to us through marketing, and often, that can be stifling.

It may feel as though we’re free from this once we settle down with a partner, have a baby and become more sure of ourselves, but that’s not always the case, in fact, the very natural and normal process our body has been through can somehow give us cause to feel even more insecure.

Even something as natural and beautiful as having children makes you feel as if you’re somehow a lesser person, there’s obviously something wrong in that equation. For that reason, defining your own beauty standard in motherhood (or at any time) is very important and can help you feel as radiant as you deserve to feel.

Let’s consider how this is possible:

Divorce is a stressful and life-changing event. It impacts all the members of a family. Some people amicably end their marriage. However, some family law issues can present many challenges and may cause marriages to end very contentiously. The former couples are seen swearing and screaming their lungs out in court. Their interactions become especially heated in sensitive matters, like child custody. It is not uncommon to see them threatening each other that they are unfit for parenting and must give up custody rights completely. In truth, what your spouse believes about your parenting skills is meaningless compared to what the Los Angeles County family law court believes.

Judges are not keen on severing a relationship between a parent and the child. If your spouse seeks to have you declared ‘unfit’ for parenting, he or she must present undeniable evidence to support such claims. An empty accusation, no matter how loudly exclaimed, is not sufficient in a court of law.
