Starting the Year Off with a Juice Cleanse {Skinny Limits Review}

I received this product for free from the sponsor of the Moms MeetSM program, May Media Group LLC, who received it directly from the manufacturer. So since I am pregnant, I wasn't able to do the juice cleanse (which I knew going into this review), but the Hubby is trying to win a bet at work to lose weight so I asked him what he thought about trying a juice cleanse. My Hubby is very competitive and will do anything (except cheat) to win. So I thought this opportunity was something that would be right up his alley.

Skinny Limits Juice Cleanse Review
That's a lot of juice!

He had some reservations going in. Like would he be able to eat? Would he need to stay by the bathroom? Could he go to work and normally function? I honestly didn't have all the answers for him, so we did some research and he decided to give Skinny Limits a try.

Skinny Limits standard 3-day juice cleanse kit includes 18 bottles of juices total, in varying flavors and fruit/vegetable combinations. Each day he drank six 16oz bottles of juice. The ingredients in each type of juice are listed below:
• Pure & Simple (Green Juice): Kale, spinach, parsley, cucumber, apple, and lemon.
• Balance (Green Ginger): Kale, spinach, parsley, cucumber, apple, lemon, and ginger.
• Green Firefly: Kale, spinach, parsley, celery, cucumber, apple, lemon, and pineapple.
• Scorpion Lemonade: Lemons, agave nectar, cayenne, and filtered water.
• Crescent Moon: Raw cashews, vanilla bean, cinnamon, agave nectar, coconut oil, himalayan sea salt, and filtered water.

Hubby said they all tasted pretty good except the Scorpion Lemonade. He said you could tell that was the one for the cleanse part.

He took a picture of the order he had to follow and I made sure to pack what he needed for work.

Skinny Limits Review

Skinny Limits juices are completely natural and raw, made without pasteurization or processing. Plus they are vegan and gluten-free! All Skinny Limits juices are made fresh to order and delivered immediately after being produced. All juices must be refrigerated immediately upon arrival. The retail price of a 3-day Skinny Limits juice cleanse (18, 16oz bottles) is $147.

We made a HUGE mistake going in. Hubby didn't eat the way he was suppose to going into the diet. You are suppose to eat fresh, plain Jane foods. Not a lot of carbs and very light. We had spaghetti for dinner the night before. HERE's how you start a cleanse right.

Weight Loss with Juice cleanse

Since we didn't set my Hubby up right from the start, he only managed to do two days of the cleanse. On the second day, we did have a normal dinner because he said he was done. But I think he did pretty well after a day on the cleanse. And I honestly was proud of him to just try it out for me.

What's Up With Squash? {29 Weeks Pregnancy Update}

I am 29 weeks pregnant today, officially in my 3rd trimester as of last week. The baby is about the size of squash, either acorn or butternut depending on who you ask. Or even a small pumpkin according to my side bar ticker. Either way, baby seems to be about 2 1/2 lbs and around 15 inches long. :)

29 weeks pregnant

I have been having a little trouble to keep up with blogging as of lately and that's mainly due to the holidays, but also slightly due to the fact that I had my 28 week check-up on Monday and besides having SweetPea there plus having to keep her entertained while I took the the 1-hour glucose test again, I found out that we had until delivery to pay $3,000 and then they took my blood pressure...

My husband has a plan to pay for delivery (why they didn't tell us sooner, I have no idea), so that's not a problem, but I still have to go back earlier than scheduled to make sure my blood pressure comes down. Hubby is on vacation next week for his birthday (he's turning the big 3-0) so I won't have to bring SweetPea this time. I think that stresses me out when I have to bring her as well.

I have been doing a great job about my weight but I have noticed I gained the most the week before my appointment. If you have been following my blog for a little bit, then you know I had pre-eclampsia with SweetPea and my doctor told me at my 24 week check-up that although controlling my weight can try to help, I am high risk just because I had it before. She said she has seen just as many under weight women have pre-eclampsia and it effects all women of all sizes. There really is no pre-exsisting conditions that determine it, although over weight women are at higher risk of developing it.

So I am a nervous wreck. I did discover that second hand smoke can contribute to high blood pressure. Just thought I would throw that out there for anyone reading this that knows someone who smokes.

I do have some swelling and have been having some headaches as well. I really hope I don't get pre-eclampsia again and have to go on bed rest this early.

For anyone interested, we are still team green, but I have been having lots of dreams lately that I'm holding a little boy, so who knows. :)

I will try and update after my appointment. And I hope you all are having a Happy New Year so far! :)

A Child-Friendly Sanity Saver from Kidoodle.TV

I participated in a Blog Blast program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Kidoodle.TV. I received a promotional item and a free trial as a thank you for participating.

Kidoodle.TV Child-Friendly Programming
Website - Facebook - Twitter

Although we try to monitor my daughter's screen time, she has been getting more into playing with our iPhones and iPad as sources of entertainment, especially when we are on the go. It can be difficult finding age appropriate stuff for her to watch, and since she just wants to have the freedom to roam, I knew I needed to find a better option.

And that's why I am loving Kidoodle.TV. Designed for children 12 years old and younger, Kidoodle.TV is a service that keeps kids entertained with very little parent involvement. Plus, there is nothing unsafe available to those viewing, so I don’t have to worry about anything inappropriate.

Kidoodle.TV app Review

What I love is that I was able to do 90% of my involvement before I even introduced SweetPea to Kidoodle.TV. Sign up took less than 2 minutes, and then I was taken to the Parent’s Room. Inside, I was able to set up a profile for each child (up to five), so that it could determine what to give her access to based on age. For SweetPea, she can view anything geared towards kids 0-4 years old. Once that was finished, I could select her profile and she was free to choose a show to watch.

The Parent’s Room has pin-protected access, so there is no way the kiddos could go snooping around or change settings. As our daughter get older, it will be nice to keep the older-aged stuff from baby #2 due in March. I could even decide which individual titles either kid could watch by changing access in the Parent’s Room. There is also a time limit feature so your children don’t spend all day staring at a computer or tablet!

I was happy to see that there was an iOS app, meaning I could download and access Kidoodle.TV on my iPhone or iPad. This makes it the perfect solution when traveling, especially during the busy holiday season. It’s also been known to help us at dinner, when she is done eating she wants to leave then there (please tell me my child isn't the only one who does this?).
