Tips for Growing a Green Family

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.

When I think about growing a “green” family, I love to share the many ways to save money and the environment at the same time. Sustainable has been used many times over the last few years instead of environmentally friendly because the carbon footprint we leave matters for generations to some. It is really easy to incorporate more sustainable habits into our daily lives that we can stick with all year long. Check out the following 7 practical pointers for going green.

How To Make Your Contribution and Protect Our Planet

It's no secret that our planet is in trouble. The air is polluted, the water is poisoned, and the land is littered with garbage. We've been talking about the problem for years, but we still haven't done anything to solve it. Why? One reason is that most people don't think they can make a difference. They believe that one person can't do anything to change the course of history. But that's not true. Every individual has the power to make a difference, and together we can create real change. We'll discuss how you can make your contribution and help protect our planet. We'll cover everything from reducing your carbon footprint and thermal pollution to recycling and composting. So, if you're ready to make a difference, keep reading!

Engaging Students in Environmental Education: Role of Parents

There are some frightening things in the real world. Global warming, the loss of natural ecosystems, the extinction of species, the accumulation of plastic in the ocean, and the demands of over 8 billion people for adequate supplies of food, shelter, and material goods all contribute to an already vulnerable situation. You can be a student asking yourself, "What do you want me to do?" Fix it? Not my fault that things got so out of hand! I don't see the point. Everything's deteriorating anyhow, so why bother?"

Most parents want their children to grow up responsible citizens who care about the world around them and who will protect it, not fear it. Children of all ages and stages of development have the potential to become active stewards.

Not by magic will our children grow up to be environmentally conscious adults. Many of us frequently wonder what type of earth we're leaving behind for our children," said Simeon Ogonda, a youth development leader from Kenya. But not many people wonder, "What kind of offspring are we leaving Earth to?" Engaging the next generation is more crucial than ever, and parents share the responsibility of raising the future's guardians.

Zero Waste Air Fryer French Toast

I absolutely hate food waste. I have invested in multiple freezers and am a big fan of freezing any leftovers that I know we won't get to. I even have shared other zero waste recipes like our homemade cake pops and fruit bar popsicles. Today, I'm giving breakfast for dinner a shot with this air fryer French toast.

So, what is zero waste cooking? Zero-waste cooking means to have no waste left behind while cooking a meal. This includes parts of the ingredients you're using and packaging from the ingredients. When practicing zero-waste cooking, you will use every single part of vegetables, fruits, meat, and whatever else may be required for your dish.

I believe not only is this a great way to live more sustainably to help our environment, but also saves you money. So why do I consider this recipe zero waste? We froze the end parts of the loaves of bread. We also froze the uneven amounts of leftover hotdog and hamburger buns because the manufacturers got together got together and sold them in the right amount. But c'est la vie. This recipe for Air Fryer French Toast is super easy and was a definite crowd pleaser plus it made dinner super quick, but also a comfort food, hearty breakfast as well.

Homemade Fruit Bar Popsicles

Summer is in full swing in our house. The kids are on summer break, and we are enjoying many pool days. Homemade fruit bar popsicles make a great cool down summer treat while making sure you have zero food waste.

Homemade Fruit Bar Popsicles

We had some leftover fruit that I was going to use to make a Memorial Day charcuterie board, but I was too tired that weekend. We simply just did too much and overextended ourselves. So, I brought just the fruit to the pool with family, but not everyone was a fan of the blueberries and raspberries. I do not like food waste and did not want it to go to waste. So, I decided to create these fruit bar popsicles. I searched that internet for fruit smoothie recipes and then altered the recipe to fit my needs.

5 Ways to Save Money While Reducing Your Environmental Footprint

In recent years, the term ‘environmentalism’ has been replaced with ‘sustainability.’ Rather than just protecting the environment, the emphasis has shifted to include protecting social and economic resources as well, so that future generations may thrive.

Though everyone knows they should integrate sustainability into their lives, it’s a bit more complicated in practice. Buying local, organic food, replacing plastic wrap with beeswax, and buying from ethical clothing lines isn’t realistic for many. If you’re looking to implement sustainable practices in your life and save money while doing it, here are five strategies you can use right now.
