Types Of Vacations That Kids Remember Forever

Do you remember specific vacations that you took while you were a child with your parents? If so, you'll know that kids are prone to remembering some types of holidays more than others. These seem to carry a special magic with them throughout their lives, and they become an archetype they want to constantly return to in the future, even when they're adults.

Types Of Vacations That Kids Remember Forever

So, what types of vacations really stick out in kids' minds, and which will they remember forever?

Theme Park holidays

Theme Park holidays are a special type of holiday that sticks in the minds of children. That's because they offer so much sensory stimulation:
- The rides are exciting
- There's colorful areas to explore
- Different zones
- Incredible music
- Fantastic food

Theme parks are essentially a bubble of fantasy that becomes reality in a child's mind when they go to Disneyland and see all of their favorite characters in real life. It creates so much energy that it becomes nostalgia when they become adults. The same is true of other locations like Legoland or even regional theme parks in Europe.

National Park adventures

National Park adventures are memorable for children, but for different reasons. These hit their psyches hard because they represent the power and beauty of nature. For example, children will often remember geysers at Yellowstone Park or giant sequoias at Yosemite. When you go hiking or RVing through these landscapes, it creates a sense of discovery and connection with nature that children might not have if they spent most of their lives living in the city. There are also plenty of amenities at RV park destinations in these locales. These give kids a chance to meet other children who might be travelling with their families.

Beach and coastal getaways

Beach and coastal getaways are another type of vacation that is memorable for children. Again, though, the reasons for this are different. For many kids, these types of holidays are for building forts, watching waves crash along the beach, and collecting shells. There's a distinctly relaxed family vibe about these breaks that enable kids to explore, play, and create more joyful memories.

Many of the best locations are in areas like Hawaii and the Florida Keys. These offer additional opportunities to engage in water sports which children might not have done before.

Big city explorations

If your kids haven't been to the big city before, it can also be a memorable experience. For example, heading to Washington and seeing the Capitol Building, monuments, and Smithsonian museums can be a lot of fun. The same is true of somewhere like Rome, where kids can see the Coliseum in real life for the first time, while also walking through the ruins of the ancient city.

Winter wonderland holidays

Finally, you might want to take your children on a winter wonderland vacation. If you go to places like Lapland or the Santa Claus Village, they can meet the so-called real Santa in real life. They can also see reindeer and take sleigh rides in the northern lights. All of this adds to the magic and gets them excited, creating incredible memories.
