Egg Roll in a Bowl {Easy Low-Fat Recipe}

I have been told that I need to get my gallbladder removed so I have been researching low fat dinner ideas and testing them out with the family to see what we all will enjoy before the big day. This is a low carb recipe as well, so if you are still doing keto then this is a great lunch or dinner option. I didn't care for keto and my gastroenterologist said it is one of the worst diets out there. I have known people to lose a large amount of weight with it but do what you will with that knowledge.

This recipe uses liquid aminos instead on soy sauce. While both liquid aminos and soy sauce contain sodium, added salt makes soy sauce's sodium content higher. As far as taste goes, they're pretty similar. Liquid aminos are less salty, milder, and slightly sweeter. Some people say liquid aminos taste closer to tamari (a sauce made from fermented soybeans) than soy sauce. There are some great benefits to using liquid aminos instead, but soy sauce is still the more budget friendly option. This is packed with protein and a one pan meal that is so fun to make.

What You Need:

- 1 lb. 93% ground beef or steak flank
- shredded cabbage
- 1/4 cup liquid aminos or soy sauce
- frozen mixed veggies
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 whole egg
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil

What You Do:

1. In a large skillet, brown beef until no longer pink. Drain the meat if it's really wet.
2. Add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
3. Add the coleslaw, liquid aminos, ginger, and sauté until desired tenderness.
4. Make a well in the center of the skillet and add the egg. Scramble until done over low heat.
5. Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with green onions.
6. Prepare frozen mixed veggies and add to pan.
7. Add additional soy sauce, if desired.

What do you think of this low carb, low fat, high protein meal prep idea?
