Tips to Boost Your Family's Immune System

Although, I received this product for free from Moms Meet to use and post my honest opinions, I believe these tips to boost your immune system and how probiotics can help is valuable information that I wanted to share. I don't know about you, but I have been researching how to boost my immune system. I have been a work at home mom for a long time now, so I already am not exposed to as many germs as the rest of my family. Now, with everything going on in the world right now, we are told to stay at home and only go out for essentials because of COVID-19. So I have been staying at home even more. No gym, no school for the kids, my husband is considered an essential job so he has to work. We make sure he washes his hands as soon as he comes in the door, takes off his shoes before he enters the house, and changes his clothes/take a shower as soon as he comes in as well. But I have still been looking for tips to improve my family's immune systems as much as possible. And thankfully I was introduced to a new product that can help, but thought I would share what I have found in my research as well.

Tips to Boost Your Immune System

1. Eat certain foods. Certain foods that can boost immune system but eating healthy fruits and vegetables while cutting back on the added sugar consumption. According to Health Line, there are 15 foods in particular that you should eat to boost your immune system. Some of those include; broccoli, red bell pepper, garlic, citrus fruits, turmeric, ginger, spinach, yogurt, and green tea.

2. Take probiotics. According to Harvard Health Publishing, "Probiotics have been shown to secrete protective substances, which may turn on the immune system and prevent pathogens from taking hold and creating major disease." Remember, 70% of your immune system is located in your gut!

Kyo-Dophilus Kids Probiotic Review

Finding the right probiotic for you and your family is key. I was recently sent Kyo-Dophilus Kids Probiotic to try with my children, YES! Your whole family should be taking probiotics. Kyo-Dophilus Kids Probiotic maintains good bowel regularity, relieves occasional digestive discomfort, and promotes healthy immune function. It contains human strain bacteria called The Friendly Trio™ that are documented in clinical studies to show various health benefits including: strengthening immune function, aiding a healthy inflammatory response, and restoring beneficial bacteria. My daughter has always had trouble with regularity, so I decided to let her try these out. They are made for children 2 years of age (infants can have 1/2 a crushed tablet) and older plus they don't have to be kept refrigerated. We are also working on her water consumption which is important for regularity as well. Kyo-Dophilus Kids Probiotic are a vanilla chewable tablet (my daughter says they taste like a yummy marshmallow) which is easy to take and is free of GMOs, sodium, preservatives, artificial colors, dairy, gluten, and soy.

3. Try IV Vitamin Therapy. Instead of getting extra vitamin pills every day, as a recommendation, you can also try intravenous fluids to boost your immunity. It is simply just 45 minutes to get an IV treatment packed with vitamins and minerals. The infusions can be done in the comfort of your own home, in a clinic setting, or even at music festivals. You can easily call registered mobile IV nurses and take the treatment right at your home. In addition to the most widely cited benefit of curing hangovers, IV vitamin treatments Orange County can supposedly help fight exhaustion and boost the immune system. Moreover, these IV fluids can be particularly beneficial during times of illness, such as stomach viruses, when oral intake may be difficult. Stomach virus IV fluids can aid in hydration and replenish essential nutrients lost due to vomiting or diarrhea, facilitating a quicker recovery process.

4. Stay Active. Working out is a powerful way to boost your immune system because it causes your body's antibodies and white blood cells to circulate more rapidly, which means they may be able to detect and zero in on bugs more quickly. Being active this way also lowers stress hormones, which reduces your chances of getting sick.

5. Get Enough Sleep. Each age group needs different amounts of sleep, but for adults, it's about eight hours. During sleep, your immune system releases proteins called cytokines, some of which help promote sleep. Certain cytokines need to increase when you have an infection or inflammation, or when you're under stress. Sleep deprivation may decrease production of these protective cytokines. In addition, infection-fighting antibodies and cells are reduced during periods when you don't get enough sleep. So, your body needs sleep to fight infectious diseases. Long-term lack of sleep also increases your risk of obesity, diabetes, and heart and blood vessel (cardiovascular) disease.

6. Try to Reduce Your Stress. When we're stressed, the immune system's ability to fight off antigens is reduced. That is why we are more susceptible to infections. The stress hormone corticosteroid can suppress the effectiveness of the immune system. Here are our tips to reduce stress and how meditation can help children as well.

7. Wash Your Hands Thoroughly. According to the CDC, they list when and how to wash your hands thoroughly.
- Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold), turn off the tap, and apply soap.
- Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
- Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum the “Happy Birthday” song from beginning to end twice.
- Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
- Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.
