Growing Up with The Berenstain Bears + Giveaway

Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the first Berenstain Bear books in 1962 and the Bear family celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2012! I have been enjoying the wonderful adventures of The Berenstain Bears my entire life. I recently received a complimentary copy of the newest book "The Berenstain Bears' Please & Thank You" to review to continue that joy with my own children.

In "The Berenstain Bears’ Please & Thank You" Book, little readers are introduced to the importance of manners, through gentle reminders given to Brother, Sister, and Honey as they await their milk and cookies. The short story and well-loved characters provide toddlers a perfect introduction to valuable life lessons and routines.

Mike Berenstain grew up watching his parents work together to write about and draw these lovable bears. Eventually he started drawing and writing about them too. Though Stan died in 2005 and Jan in 2012, Mike carries on his parents’ love of creating Berenstain Bear stories from southeastern Pennsylvania, which looks a lot like Bear Country.

My daughter has been enjoying letting us read this wonderful story to her as well as "read" it on her own. I love The Berenstain Bear books because they always share a good, real life message and this book does as well.

  1. I'm an elementary school librarian and so I know those Berenstain Bears. I love the one where Brother Bear gets sick and blows off doing his school work. In the end he learns that it's never too late to say your sorry. It's a good lesson to teach children and a great reminder for me.
