Halloween is a great time of year, and it’s very nearly here. While not every country in the world celebrates it as aggressively as others, it’s important to note that many do. For a child, this time of year can be quite scary. Not quite understanding if your Jack’o’ lantern pumpkin is actually warding off evil spirits or not, wondering why there are cobwebs and many other odd decorations around the house and the scary costumes everyone wears can be a little disorienting at first. We may even remember feeling this way ourselves.

That being said, it’s important to allow them to engage in these festivities and to help them celebrate this time with others. Trick or treating can be a great part of that, but in order to settle their fears it may be that eschewing the scary outfits that adults wear and allowing them a time to simply dress up and have fun is important.

Gifting can be an important thing to get right. We might think that deciding to purchase a product or service for someone should not be a solo declaration of our fondness and that’s correct. My husband and I have been on a lifestyle wellness change for over two years now. Since we are having to learn healthy habits in our adulthood, it has been trial and error on what works for us.
