By the time children join us, we hope they’re already comfortable identifying basic shapes and colors. Ideally, they’ll recognize most of their letters by the time we do our quarterly evaluations (yes, we have to do evaluations for 3-year-olds), although this is never a requirement for acceptance. The one thing we do require is that all students be fully potty‑trained and no longer using pull‑ups or diapers during the day.

Last year, I worked with two-year-olds and made a simple letter book using mostly stickers and paint. Now that I’m teaching three-year-olds, we focus on a new letter each week. To make it easy and organized, I print each letter on cardstock, and the kids decorate them with stickers, paint, and plenty of glue (trust me, you’ll want to stock up!).

Does your child have a Thanksgiving project due to "hide a turkey" or "disguise a turkey", my daughter go to do this one year in preschool and it was so much fun. School is starting for us in less than a week! I can't believe how fast the summer went by. I'm sure it was because we were so busy. With school starting back, it's back to the daily schedule of making lunches, getting kids to school, and extra curricular activities. I enjoy making my kid's lunches in the morning because I like to know what they are eating and so they can know how much I care while they are there through handwritten lunch box notes.

Yesterday was my Peanut's first day of pre-k. As I've mentioned, he will be going three hours a day, three days a week.
