Grandparent's Day Craft Free Printable

I am happy as can BEE because the best Grandparents belong to me! I was searching for an easy printable craft to make with my 2k preschoolers for Grandparents Day. I found some on Esty, but they either had spelling errors or they weren't at the price point that I thought was fair to other teachers, especially private school preschool teachers. Since I am pretty handy at making printables, I thought I would give it a shot. A free bee image later and here is what I came up with. ENJOY!

Feel free to click the image below to print at home for free. Use black or blue paint to paint child's hands. We used a foam brush and then applied their hands ourselves because they are only in 2K. But older kids could easily do both hands and apply the paint with help.

Do you celebrate Grandparent's Day? What do you think of our craft?

Grandparent’s Day is more than just a sweet occasion; it’s an official holiday with a meaningful history. It was first celebrated in the United States in 1978, after being signed into law by President Jimmy Carter. The holiday was inspired by the efforts of Marian McQuade, a West Virginia mother and grandmother of 15, who wanted to create a special day to honor grandparents and encourage families to spend time together across generations.

McQuade believed grandparents play a vital role not only in families but also in passing down history, values, and traditions to future generations. She also wanted the day to raise awareness of the needs of elderly people living in nursing homes.

We celebrate Grandparent’s Day to:

- Honor grandparents for their love, guidance, and wisdom.

- Strengthen family bonds across multiple generations.

- Encourage children to learn from their elders, cherishing their stories and experiences.

- Recognize the importance of seniors in our communities, beyond just family circles.

Observed every year on the first Sunday after Labor Day, Grandparent’s Day is a time to slow down, reflect, and celebrate the unique bond between grandparents and grandchildren.

🌸 Celebrating Grandparent’s Day 🌸

Grandparent’s Day is a beautiful reminder to honor the love, wisdom, and guidance that grandparents bring into our lives. Whether it’s through storytelling, passing down family traditions, or simply offering unconditional love, grandparents play such a special role in shaping who we are. This year, take a little extra time to show your appreciation, write a heartfelt card like the one above, cook a favorite meal together, or plan a fun outing with the kids. Even the smallest gestures can mean the world to them. 💕

  2. Any way we can edit this? Some of our students don’t have a grandparent attend our event. They have someone special to them.
