How do you handle tough topics with your children? My kids are still small enough that sometimes a conversation can be hard for them to understand. My daughter just "graduated" pre-school, but she was having some trouble with the little girls in her class. There is always "the leader" and she tells her little followers how to act or treat another person. One day they would want to play with my daughter, the next they wouldn't. It was very frustrating for me as a parent because I had no control about what happens at school. Of course I talked to my daughter's teachers and of course I talked to my daughter. But I felt that wasn't enough.

My youngest is in diapers and honestly, I can’t wait until he is in undies! We just started the potty-training process, and he isn't as eager as I would like. But that's okay, no pressure. This past weekend was the first of summer break for us! And one of our favorite things to do during the summer is to spend all day at the lake. My husband's family has a lake cabin that we all share. And we love inviting all of friends and their families to come down to just hang out. We go on boat rides, fish, grill out, and hang out lake side all day long.

 

This past weekend we did just that. We invited all of our friends down and had an awesome lake day. The day started out pretty cloudy and it even rained mid day, but after that the sun came out shining bright. Plus side the rain made some nice mud that the kiddos had fun playing in.

My mother has been having medical issues for years now. She had a very difficult time breathing, constantly had a wheezing cough, and was constantly having tummy issues. She even had to quit her job as a teacher, which was her one passion. Her life was miserable, until she saw her doctor, went through multiple tests, and was finally diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.

My little man isn't feeling well today. And it got me thinking about all the very useful things that I keep on hand in case one of my kids get sick. I am no newbie when it comes to potty training. Besides successfully potty training my daughter, I was a nanny for five years before becoming a mom. Obviously. Hence the blog's name. Nanny to Mommy. Anyways, I have even helped potty train a boy, but I have never had to help guide a strong-willed child through potty training and Peanut is definitely a strong-willed child. Since this is very new territory for me, I need all the help I can get.

We saw the preview when we went to see The Good Dinosaur and my daughter got super excited. It looks really funny and even I can't wait. It is starting to get warmer and warmer here in Georgia. Our days will once again include long lake stays and trips to the pool. One of my family's favorite summer activities is to lounge by and play in the pool. I can't wait until it is warm enough to relax poolside everyday.
