Great Camping Ideas for the Summer

If you’re planning your next vacation, whether it’s with family, friends, or on your own, then why not consider camping? When the weather is good, there’s nothing better than sleeping under the open sky and exploring the countryside. Even when the weather is bad, you can still enjoy a camping trip with the right preparations.

Great Camping Ideas for the Summer

Here are some great ideas to help you to plan your next camping trip.

Summer Camp Ideas for Children

School is rapidly approaching the end and what are your plans this summer? If you are like my family, we vacation during the spring or fall so the summer is wide open. My children are just now getting old enough to participate in summer camps. The reason I personally like the idea of summer camps, is because I like for my children to stick to some sort of schedule and, honestly, get out of the house for a few hours.

Since my family is so new to summer camps, please let me know what summer camps you have attended and I will look into them. I want to have an ongoing summer camp list that people can use and find informative.

Camp Essentials for Kids

If you are like me and my family, then you are already planning for the big events coming up this year. We do this to know what we have to save up for. One of the things that I know many families like to invest in is summer camp. We even have a camp available for spring break too! I think it is a great idea to keep your children entertained and meet new other children!

I have compiled a list of summer camp essentials. This list goes beyond clothes, a sleeping bag, and pillow which are probably more essentials if it is a sleep away camp.

What to Pack Your Child for Summer Camp

Summer camp! Do you have plans to send your little one to either a day camp or spend the night camp? I remember sleep away camp when I was growing up. I was able to go two years in a row and it was so much fun. Packing was probably the hardest part. We didn't have a washer or dryer on site, and it was a two week stay. Plus, it was in Georgia and no air conditioning, so we had to pack a LOT if we didn't want to wear sweaty clothes multiple times. Since I have some experience, I thought I would share what to pack your child for summer camp, so you know you are preparing your child to make the most out of summer camp.

What To Pack for Summer Camp

LABEL EVERYTHING! Use stickers, permanent marker, stamps, sew-on labels, iron-on labels, etc. This is the MOST important thing. We had a kid on our trip that didn't bring half of their things and was just use to "borrowing" whatever was around at their house. So, they "borrowed" someone else's toothbrush and my hairbrush until we told one of our camp leaders and they ran to the store to grab them some extras. The next year I packed an extra toothbrush just in case. But the kid didn't touch anyone's items if they had a name on it, so label everything! Name Bubbles sells quality labels that are reusable and washable which are environmentally friendly while being cute and practical. The best part is they can used for years and years to come. These reusable labels can withstand any dishwasher, bottle warmer, or microwave, so label away because these reusable Write-On Labels are going to make your camper the most prepared this year. Name Labels makes it easy with custom camp labels.
