Be Informed
However, it’s not just a question of saying the right words in the right way; you actually have to know what you’re talking about and be informed. Make sure you do all your research and investigate every point you want to make thoroughly so you can give the important information out and, if need be, counter any arguments.
Take Action
If you decide to do something and you let others know, you need to follow up on that thing. Whether it’s a simple task like cleaning your car or something more serious like finding the right nursing home abuse attorneys, the more you can prove you’ll do as you say, the more you’ll be taken seriously whenever you say something.
Be Clear and Concise
Not only will this show that you’re a serious person and that people should listen to you, but it will also mean you don’t have to repeat yourself. Remember, the more you repeat yourself, the less your words mean – especially to you. You’ll notice that the more you say something, the less confident you’ll feel, and in the end, it will be as though you are trying to convince everyone around you. Say it once, say it clearly, and you’ll be taken seriously.
Dress Well
However, the truth is that clothes really do make a difference, whether you want them to or not. If you’re going into an important work meeting, for example, you’ll be taken a lot more seriously if you’re dressed in a smart suit than if you were dressed in shorts and a t-shirt.
Although things are changing and people are dressing generally more casually, it’s always best to dress well if you want to be taken seriously.
