We don’t need to be reminded that we’re living through a cost-of-living crisis. Many of us are finding that our money really isn’t going as far these days, with the price of accommodation, food, energy, fuel and pretty much every other essential going through the roof. We’re having to cut back and save wherever we can. But this doesn’t mean that you aren’t going to buy anything at all. Life goes on and many of us will find ourselves picking bits and pieces up with what disposable income we have available to us. What’s important to remember when you do spend, however, is that there are always ways to save. Here are a few suggestions that can help you to save money when you shop.
Look Out for Sales
First, take some time to shop around. If there’s something that you want, browse different suppliers to find who is offering the lowest price. As Black Friday approaches, and the holiday season features after (which tends to be packed with festive sales), you can often find plenty of competitive prices and discounts. It’s definitely worth shopping around rather than settling with the first seller you see.
Use Referral Programs
Next, look out for referral programs. Many brands will reward you for referring friends or family, often offering big vouchers or discounts when someone you refer makes a purchase. A good example is the Paisley Grace Boutique Referral Program. Whoever you’re shopping with, take some time to see if they have a programme set up and make the most of it. This can range from items to policies like insurance policies.
Sign Up to Mailing Lists
Most companies offer a discount in exchange for signing up to their mailing list. Whenever you hsop alone, check the site or look into pop ups that offer a discount for email sign up. Most often, this will be a 10% discount, or at least free delivery on your first order. Sign up to make the most of this - you can always unsubscribe later down the line if you don’t like the material the company sends out.
Use Cashback Sites
Cashback sites are a great way to save when shopping. All you have to do is sign up. When you shop online, head to the cashback site first and check whether they are partnered with the brand you’re going to shop with. Usually, you can click through to the site through the cashback site, and you will receive a percentage of your spend back. This tends to be a small amount, but it mounts up over time. You can earn a lot for taking out policies such as pet insurance or life insurance through cashback sites too.
Ask for a Price Match
Sometimes, retailers will price match items that you have seen cheaper somewhere else. It’s always worth asking, as the worst that a company can say is no.
Hopefully, some of the information above will really help you on your journey to saving a little cash each and every time you spend!
