Tips to Make Working from Home Easier

Long before the pandemic, I have been working from home. I have learned so much along the way that I thought I would share my experience in hopes to help others. I received a Flexispot Desk Bike to share my experience with and it has made working from home easier and more enjoyable. Through all the years that I have been working from home, I wish I had bought one of these sooner. It has really upped my WFH game.

Tips to Make Working from Home Easier

Tips to Make Working from Home Easier

1. Keep personal and professional hours.

2. Keep a routine. This is so great for anyone staying at home for hours on end. Creating a day can help you keep time and make the most out of your day. I recommend making sure this routine includes getting completely ready for the day and scheduled eating times.

3. Check in with your team regularly. This is so you can still have a social environment. Socially is so important for your mental health.

4. Create a work-desk space environment. This helps to keep your personal and professional time separate as possible. Invest in a Flexispot Desk Bike. Although Flexispot has a ton of great work from home solutions, but the reason I wanted the Desk bike was because it can easily go under a table or the desk I already have if I would like to switch it up. But it can also be a great standing desk as well.

The desk space holds my laptop perfectly with a 20'' x 22.8'' size. It was so easy to set up all by myself and it has wheels, so it easily moves from room to room. I currently have it set up in my living room but pushed it to my spare bedroom with ease. Being sedentary for hours on end (even with timers to make sure I get up at least once an hour) is exhausting for the joints. The Flexispot Desk Bike is whisper quiet even when going at a higher speed. I was on the phone with my mom, and she had no idea I was riding a bike making it perfect even when on a Zoom call. The Flexispot Desk Bike has multiple settings with 8 resistance levels and the seat height range for anyone 5'1'' to 6'2''. I also liked the sleek design that fit in with my house decor nicely.

For better working from home, you should use laptop. You don't need to buy an expensive one, you can even use a laptop under 900.

5. Set boundaries with those you live with. If you need some quiet time for a call, then you need to make sure those you are living with know beforehand so you aren't yelling at anyone mid-call.

6. Keep your environment clean and tidy. A clean space makes for a clear mind. It is amazing all the studies out there how cluttered environments can lead to higher anxiety levels.

I have enjoyed working from home and while some may think it is a dream come true, it can be mentally taxing as well. You have to be able to meet personal goals and self-manage pretty well to do it. Doing what I do has led me to be creative and be there for my family when activities come up. I have also been able to be there to support my entire family when things come up and adjust when needed (example homeschool).
