Road Trips Made Easy Thanks to Downloads from Netflix

My family and I have been doing so much traveling this year! It has been very fun and exciting making all of these memories with our little ones. We have been road tripping our way around to all of these different places. Our next big adventure will be to Mexico! We are going on a Carnival cruise there, but the port is in Mobile, Alabama which is about a three and a half hour drive from us. I will share our Road Trip Family Essentials in a later post, but the main one I want to talk about is Netflix Downloads.

I did not know this feature existed until a few days ago (make sure your app is up to date). We don't have unlimited data because it doesn't make sense for us to spend that much more when I am connected to an internet connection 95% of the time. So being able to watch any kids TV shows or movies was very limited before. We had The Little Mermaid downloaded on our iPad, but I can only watch it so many times before I tend to go a little crazy.

Netflix Downloads are easy to manage and you can download whatever Netflix has available on whatever device you have the Netflix app on! Just click "My Downloads" (found in the top left hand corner) and then "Find Something To Download". Once you make your selection, click to download and you will be able to watch almost anything on the go with more being added every day! And we don't have to use any data, we just make sure to bring along our power banks and we are good to go.

My current favorite shows that I highly suggest watching on Netflix (whether they are available for download or not) are GirlBoss and GLOW. Both are extremely different, but awesome in their own ways. The kiddos are loving that DreamWorks' Trolls is now available to stream and Disney's Moana!

Breaking up with cable/satellite was a great choice for our family and we still don't miss anything that we want to see! Our Netflix account is a great deal at only $9.99/month for being able to stream from two screens at a time. They have plenty of other plans to choose from as well.

Did you know that Netflix let you download now? What do you think of this new feature?

I am a member of the Netflix StreamTeam and receive complimentary products as such. Regardless, I have been a huge fan and user of Netflix. All opinions are my own.

  2. My daughter has Netflix and I have to say that I like the fact that her kids can download the shows/movies that she approves of! Plus it gets the kids off of all the You Tybe videos that they are hooked on. Plus I really don't know what videoes they are watching!
When my cable contract is up, I am going to check all of this out! Thank you for sharing!
