Did you know October is National Pizza Month? We LOVE pizza in our house. I personally have never been one to really make pizza, but we are trying new recipes since we have moved into our new house. We love having family movie night with pizza, so I thought I would get a little creative in the kitchen and make something special.
I decided I would make Teriyaki Chicken Pineapple Pizza. I asked my daughter what her favorite thing that I cooked was and she said PIZZA! So I must have done something right!
Teriyaki Chicken Pineapple Pizza Recipe
What you need:
Mama Mary’s Pizza Original Crust
Dole® Pineapple Chunks
Cabot® White oak Cheddar Cheese - shredded
Kikkoman® Teriyaki
Filippo Berio® Olive Oil
1 lb. chopped chicken
What you do:
1. Preheat oven to 450.
2. Cook chicken through with Teriyaki sauce.
3. Coat pizza crust with olive oil.
4. Add layer of cheese, then layer of chicken, then pineapple, and more cheese.
5. Move oven to 425, place pizza in oven, and cook for 8 to 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
If you want to add even more flavor, add some red onion. My family isn't a fan so I didn't on mine.
My family was a HUGE fan of this recipe! My husband said he wished I had used crushed pineapple so he could have more in each bite. He always likes to help me improve my recipes since I am still learning. I also didn't shred the cheese which really needed to be done, but I must have misplaced our cheese slicer in the move. Oops!

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite foods is pizza!! In my opinion, pineapple does not belong on pizza! It's not a dessert. It ruins the whole cheese & tomato taste! I don't know about the cheese or the teriyaki sauce. I never had that. I would give it a try. But I figure why mess with perfection??
ReplyDeleteBecause there are so many varieties out there! :) The cheese with this is kind of tart so it compliments the sweet Pineapple very well. The flavors are very balanced.
