Enjoy Your Pregnancy

Funny, scrolling Pinterest, I see all these pregnancy announcement pictures, baby bump through the months, or sex reveal pictures. And other creative ways to announce different things of your pregnancy. I kind of feel like the joy of my pregnancy was robbed from me. Some things were unavoidable and out of anyone's control, some things could have been handled differently. My grandmother passed away, I got into a car accident, my father passed away, my identity was stolen, and my step-mother brought on all this stress over the life insurance money. I didn't have time to think of cute ways to remember my pregnancy, stress was all I had time to think about. I did create this blog. And I am so glad I did. It is the only thing I have to remember that special time. You are only pregnant with your first child once. You are only pregnant for your first time once. I feel like I was robbed.

So my advice? Enjoy it. I know first hand that life completely gets in the way. And it sucks. But try your best to take those pictures, write down those memories, even if they are embarrassing.

Don't take it for granted. Not everyone is as lucky as you. I feel so blessed that I was able to conceive so quickly. I feel truly blessed that we were able to conceive at all. Although women in my family tend to be very fertile, I had my doubts.

I feel like I am rambling and being very serious for 12 a.m. And maybe that is just the mood I am in today and based on the weird day I had.

Feel free to share your ways that you enjoyed your pregnancy. I promise not to get too jealous. ;)

  1. Don't let all the Pinterest craziness put pressure on you. Very few people are put together enough to do super cute things to document their pregnancy, etc! You're totally right to just enjoy it as it comes! Congrats!

    1. Thank you. I can't wait to start trying for our next little one. Maybe I will be able to keep better track this time around. :)

  2. I loved doing the baby bump pictures while I was pregnant and having a gender reveal party (wonderful idea for anyone who's pregnant for the first time!)..I had my stresses during pregnancy too though but you just have to enjoy your time becoming a mommy regardless.

  3. I totally feel you on the robbed part! I actually hid my pregnancy from my mom for the first three months. I wasn't married yet and I thought people would be disappointed! Of course it turned out better than I thought but next time I get pregnant.... I will be doing EVERYTHING.
Found you through the GFC hop.

  4. Too bad about your pregnancy "robbery." I really enjoyed being pregnant much more than I'd ever imagined. I even went to the gym through the 7th month. Who knows if the next will be the same way.

    1. I was put on bed rest due to pre-eclampsia. I worked up until then at almost nine months. I did enjoy being pregnant, I just wish I took more pictures.

  5. I never took bump pictures because I was overweight to begin with and I didn't want the reminder (despite loving every bit of my pregnancy and my belly). I kind of regret it, but not really. I do have a few pictures from my pregnancy (mainly of me and my husband at weddings I attended), and that's enough to remember.

I'm sorry you could not enjoy and celebrate your pregnancy in the same ways as others. But I'm very glad you have the blog to chronicle the memories.

    1. Thank you. I was over weight before as well. I think the main thing is that my SIL is preggo now and, IDK, I just wish I didn't have to go through so much stress during a time in my life that was suppose to be so special.
