With the summer holidays fast approaching, it has many of us thinking of what we will do with the time. With the children off school, it can feel a challenge knowing what to do to keep them entertained, happy and not spend a small fortune in the pursuit of doing so. This past Friday, my family and I were invited to Zoo Atlanta to experience IllumiNights at the Zoo: A Chinese Lantern Festival presented by Georgia Power, with additional support from Beacon Sponsor PNC. Zoo Atlanta has partnered with Hanart Culture to bring this incredible new experience to Atlanta. Zoo passes are my favorite experience gift idea that I have recommended for years because it is a gift that keeps on giving all year long.

IllumiNights opened to the public on Monday, November 22, 2021, and continues through Sunday, January 16, 2022. After dark, guests will explore the Zoo, transformed – full of awe-inspiring vistas highlighting the wonder, beauty and diversity of the natural world, from the savanna to the sea to the skies, from the depths of the rainforest to the lights of the Arctic Circle.

With spring’s arrival, we can all begin looking forward to all the fun times that the warmer months will bring. And is there anything more enjoyable than spending a long afternoon in the yard with friends and family, enjoying a fantastic BBQ? This has been off-limits for longer than normal, thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. But now? We can begin to dream of those deeply enjoyable moments again.

So let’s not leave anything to chance. Let’s ensure that your BBQ is perfect. In this blog, we’ll look at five steps that’ll make it one to remember for all the right reasons.

There are a wide variety of different family vacation options out there, ranging from things like a trip to Disneyland, to visits to faraway relatives, or camping weekends in the great outdoors. 

Family vacations are an amazing opportunity for everyone in the family to bond, have fun, forge great and uplifting memories, and simply enjoy life.

One form of family vacation that comes with certain unique and striking benefits, is a family caravanning or motorhome excursion – and when you look at some of the new or used off road caravans for sale, you might be surprised by the variety on offer. 

Here are just a few of the benefits of a family caravan or motorhome vacation. 

Spending time in nature is good for you and offers many health benefits. Whenever you and your kids feel bored around the house, it may be an opportunity to get outside and participate in some various activities.

The following ideas are excellent and engaging items to add to your list of possibilities. You might want to propose these suggestions to your kids and see what they’re in the mood for and prefer doing. Mix it up each week, so you keep it interesting. No matter what you choose to do, put your phone away and be present so you can enjoy quality time with your kids. Most importantly, allow yourself to let loose a bit and laugh and have fun. 

Who is excited for fall? This past weekend was the first time that the weather actually felt like fall for us. Living in south problems I guess. But I am so excited to start enjoying all the fun activities that autumn has to offer whether the weather starts cooperating or not. So I decided to keep going with my seasonal bucket list activities and make one for Fall too!

Winter is our busy time of year. I know winter doesn't technically start until the end of December, but I included all of Christmas activities on that one. This list is just fun fall activities. Each year we visit our local ecotourism farm that has many of the activities included on this list. I highly suggest finding a local farm near you. It is such a great idea to support local. This year will also be the first time in MANY years that we will also be attending the Georgia National Fair in Perry, GA with the whole family. Follow all of our family's adventures on Instagram.

With kids stuck at home and parents wondering what to do, I have a list of great solutions to help keep everyone active and engaged. Many of these options are indoor or outdoor fun too! You could set up multiple for an epic obstacle course as well.




Even with somethings opening back up, I don't have any plans to rush out into the world. I am going to be honest, I am at a place where I want my family to be healthy and I want a few things to open up to get back to some normalcy. So in the mean time, here are some fun activities for your kids to enjoy at home for mind and body.

What did you do this summer? I did a lot of disconnecting from the social media and just enjoyed being in the moment. It can sometimes be hard since social media basically is my job right now, but it was so good for my family to see me not behind a screen, but actually in the moment. We went to so many baby showers, birthday parties, and we enjoyed family night every weekend.

School’s out, for summer at least. And while it’s important that you don’t let your kids run riot at this time, it is the time for them to relax and blow off a little steam.

I like creating these lists seasonally, I had so much fun creating and completing our Ultimate Christmas Bucket List. And since I enjoyed it so much, I thought I would share a new one for summer with all of you! So, you don't forget about scheduled activities from your bucket list.

While work and school are important, so is having a little fun and enjoying some entertainment with your family! If you’re unsure of how to spend your free time with your loved ones, then you’ve come to the right place.

The following activities are amusing and engaging suggestions for the whole family and will have you building a stronger bond together in no time. What’s most important is that you all eliminate any distractions when you’re hanging out with your family members and truly focus on what it is you’re doing in the moment. My husband and I have decided that we are going to celebrate our anniversary with a trip every year. Whether we go on a large trip like the cruise we took to Mexico or even a small day visit to the mountains, we want to go somewhere. I understand that everyone celebrates their anniversaries differently, but this is how we have chosen to celebrates our going forward.

Though it may seem like 2018 just began not too long ago, here we are already into the summer season! School is out, the kids are home, and that means there will be plenty of opportunities to spend time as a family. Here are some fun ideas that you can do at home as a family this summer!

The sun is shining, the backyard is freshly mowed, and something most associated with summer is always at your fingertips- the backyard barbecue. The 4th of July doesn’t have to be the only reason to fire up the grill in the summer, and even though it is easy to grab fast food on the way home the payoff of a homecooked meal outside on a nice weather day is a great family bonding experience. Let the kids get crafty beforehand and make their own fun, custom aprons for Dad to wear while cooking, for mom to use while tending to the garden, or for themselves!
