The Importance of Gut Health

Being healthy is essential to being happy. I have been trying to talk about mental health more because it a battle I have dealt with since I was a teenager. For years, I was told to not be negative or sad, but I want to share the real parts of my life too. And a very real fact is that I suffer from anxiety. It is something that I have been trying to deal with on my own through natural ways like diet and exercise, but sometimes I need help. I have been doing a lot of research on it and according to an article by Harvard Healthbeat, "The brain has a direct effect on the stomach and intestines...Therefore, a person's stomach or intestinal distress can be the cause or the product of anxiety, stress, or depression." This makes sense because there are certain feelings that you get in your stomach that are only reactions from your brain, like "butterflies in your tummy".

Every gut has it's own microbiome complete with natural probiotic bacteria that keeps your body healthy. At times, your gut microbiota may become unbalanced due to antibiotic usage, poor western diet, or environmental factors. These imbalances may lead to occasional bloating, digestive discomfort, frequent bowel movements, and an overall undesirable sluggish feeling. Probiotic products can increase that amount of beneficial bacteria to your gut which can work for a while, but the imbalance may strike again. So how can you start reconnecting your gut health and shift your individual microbiome balance for good?

Gut Connection by Country Life is a scientifically formulated range of supplements that connects the gut to individual health issues that matter like energy, stress, mood, sleep, weight, and more so there is a more personalized approach. Gut Connection by Country Life contains an innovative, whole food fermentate prebiotic that feeds the existing probiotics in your gut and helps maintain its lining. This whole food fermentate prebiotic is balanced with clinically researched ingredients for your overall health. Fermentation happens naturally in healthy fermented foods. Harnessing the power of yeast and the transformative powers of the fermentation process proves to have many benefits like helping build nutrients and metabolites to promote a vibrant, healthy microbiome.

Gut Connection is a prebiotic and the difference in that and a probiotic is the fermentation process. Researchers have found that the benefits of prebiotics are helpful in increasing the helpful bacteria already in the gut that reduce disease risk and improve general well being. Prebiotic fiber is not as fragile as probiotic bacteria because it is not affected by heat, stomach acid, or time. Scientific literature indicates that increasing prebiotic fiber intake supports immunity, digestive health, bone density, regularity, weight management, and brain health. EpiCor is a whole food fermentate prebiotic that balances and strengthens your gut by boosting its levels of good bacteria to promote health every day.

I received three different varieties of Gut Connection from Country Life to try out including a daily journal to help me keep track of my activities, meals, and supplements - all of which are key to telling you what is causing your gut issues. Supplements are something are to know for sure if they are working or not, but tracking can help you make that decision on your own. I like that Gut Connection by Country Life is certified gluten free, certified vegan and contains no wheat or soy, salt, sugar, or preservatives and no artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners. My favorite part is that it is available for purchase on Amazon and most health food stores. You can find where to buy on Country Life's website.

Do you suffer from anxiety, stress, or low energy? How do you take care of yourself? Did you know that your gut health is connected to the rest of you too?

  2. My bowels were not regulated at all. My one set of meds constipated me, and the other set gave me diarrhea! My doctor was the one that told me about taking these pills. I have for over two years now! I also bought them for my younger grandkids. The gummy bear type. They don’t eat right. I am so glad that these worked for me! I was going out of my mind!! I also pinned this. I also shared on my Facebook page
