If you are anything like me, the MAIN reason you decided to breastfeed was because formula is just TOO expensive. Yes, there are a TON of benefits for you and for baby. But when I first started nursing SweetPea, I was determined to do everything I could to make it work because I just couldn't wrap around spending that type of money on something my body could make itself. Now, I didn't have to pump because I was able to stay home, because if I had to pump that would have been a totally different story.
I used disposable nursing pads with my daughter. And although I feel breastfeeding is cheaper, the price of pads and creams can add up as well. That's why I registered for reusable nursing pads this time around. They are just like disposable (you take them off after each nursing session) except you wash them instead of throw them away! And I was so excited that I had the opportunity to try out LilyPadz®. I first found out about them with my daughter, but couldn't bring myself to pay the upfront cost when I didn't know anyone who had ever used them. LilyPadz® are a patented, innovative nursing pad made of a skin-like layer of silicone. The unique design of LilyPadz® maintains pressure on the nipple while in place and forms a non-absorbent barrier that actually PREVENTS breast milk leakage.

LilyPadz® Features:
- Breathable
- Latex-Free
- Ultra Thin
- Non-Absorbent
- Non-Collecting
- Adhesive-Free
- Economical
- Dermatologically Tested
LilyPadz® state that you don't have to deal with nursing pad changes and you can still stay dry, but if you sweat a good deal, I suggest changing them out regularly. I have a friend who thinks that she may have gotten a yeast infection (which can happen to nursing women anyways) from them. This is unconfirmed because there were many other things that could have contributed to it. But I would just stay on the safe side. When in doubt, change them out.
LilyPadz® recently started a new line called LilyPrints™. They sent me LilyPrints™ Heart Pair to review since Valentine's Day is right around the corner. :) I'm not sure if the wash comes separate, but to make sure that your pads don't cause break outs or anything, it is important to make sure you clean them regularly and according to directions with it.
Over all, I am very happy with my very fun LilyPadz® Prints and can't wait to wear them when our new little peanut gets here in March.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

I like that they have cute prints and cut-out shapes on the nursing pads! :) It makes them a little more fun. LilyPadz seem like they would make an affordable option for nursing pads. Thanks for the review!
ReplyDeleteI've thought about getting these but I wonder if they are big enough for large busted women...
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty large busted. I'll let you know how they work out.
